By Jako Keke, July 1, 2026. The All Progressives Congress (APC) and the member representing Jalingo, Yorro and Zing Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Sadiq Tafida, have formally indicated their intention to defend the suit filed against them by Hon. Princess Leah Olusiyi Solomon before the Federal High Court sitting in Jalingo. The development marks the first official response from the defendants since the case was instituted at the court. At the resumed proceedings on Wednesday, counsel to the plaintiff, Barrister L. L. Takdok of P. D. Pius and Associates, informed the court that he had no objection to the applications filed by the defendants, describing their decision to defend the suit as a constitutional right. The presiding judge of the Federal High Court, Jalingo,Justice Salisu Mashkur granted the applications and adjourned the matter until July 15, 2026, for substantive hearing.
