KEKENAPEP: YOWICAN Condemns Killing of Taraba Tricycle Rider, Demands Justice.

The Chairman of the Youth Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria (YOWICAN), North East Zone, Evang. Jesse Ephesian, has condemned the tragic death of a tricycle rider in Taraba State, allegedly following a dispute over a ₦300 pass fee, describing the incident as a painful reminder of the consequences of violence.

In a statement, Evang. Ephesian expressed deep sorrow over the incident and extended condolences to the bereaved family, friends, colleagues and the entire tricycle community. He prayed for God to grant the family the strength to bear the loss and for the deceased to rest in peace.

He stressed that human life is sacred and should never be sacrificed over disagreements or financial disputes, noting that violence can never be justified as a means of resolving conflicts.

The YOWICAN chairman called on the leadership of the Tricycle Association in Taraba State to immediately review and strengthen its operational guidelines and disciplinary measures to prevent similar incidents. He urged the association to intensify members' education on peaceful conflict resolution, emotional self-control, respect for human life and adherence to the law.

Ephesian also appealed to the Taraba State Government and security agencies to collaborate with transport unions and other stakeholders to introduce practical measures that would improve safety, promote discipline and maintain law and order within the transport sector.

Addressing young people across Taraba State and the North East, he urged them to reject violence and embrace peaceful means of settling disputes, warning that anger may last only a moment while its consequences can endure for a lifetime. He encouraged youths to become ambassadors of peace, justice, forgiveness and love.

The YOWICAN chairman further called on law enforcement agencies to carry out a thorough, impartial and professional investigation into the incident and ensure that anyone found culpable is prosecuted in accordance with the law. He expressed hope that the tragedy would serve as a wake-up call for all stakeholders to uphold the sanctity of human life and work collectively towards building a safer and more peaceful society.

A community leader in Bissaula Ward of Kurmi Local Government Area, Taraba State, Alhaji Idi Ismaila, has decried a fresh wave of violence that disrupted the fragile peace recently restored to the area. INSECURITY: Two suspected kidnappers nabbed in Mayo Dassa, Jalingo.

Troops of six Brigade Nigerian Army headquarters ,Jalingo have dismantled a notorious kidnapping syndicate terrorizing parts of Jalingo and Lau Local Government Areas of Taraba State.
