EDUCATION: Wisdom, Not Wealth, Is Greatest Legacy, Don Tells Graduates as Abroad Crystal Academy Holds Maiden Graduation.

 The Chairman of the Youth Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria (YOWICAN), North-East Zone, Evangelist Ephesian Jesse, has described wisdom as the greatest legacy parents can bequeath to their children, saying it empowers individuals to acquire, preserve and judiciously manage resources.

Evangelist Jesse, a lecturer at Taraba State University, Jalingo, made the assertion while delivering the keynote address at the maiden Graduation, Speech and Prize-Giving Ceremony of Abroad Crystal Academy, Mararaban Kunini, in Lau Local Government Area of Taraba State.

Speaking on the theme, "The Best Legacy Is Not Wealth, But Wisdom," the educationist stressed that the responsibility of parents and guardians goes beyond paying school fees, noting that children also require proper guidance, love, discipline and prayers to become responsible members of society.

He commended the management of the school for its commitment to nurturing the younger generation, describing education as a vital tool for building a morally upright and productive society.

According to him, the true contribution of any educational institution is not merely producing academically outstanding students but raising children with integrity, discipline, creativity, sound character and strong moral values.

He urged the school to sustain its investment in quality education while continuing to instil godly principles in its pupils and students.

The Proprietor of Abroad Crystal Academy, Hon. Job Julius Saleh, said the school was established to expand access to quality education for children in Mararaban Kunini and surrounding communities.

He commended parents for entrusting their children's education to the institution, noting that despite being in its first year of operation, the pupils and students had demonstrated dedication, resilience and a commitment to academic excellence.

Hon. Saleh disclosed that plans were underway to establish a skill acquisition centre before next year to equip students with practical entrepreneurial and vocational skills alongside classroom learning.

He also encouraged members of the community to actively participate in the 2027 general elections by supporting credible leaders capable of delivering good governance.

Also speaking, the Director of Private Schools in the Taraba State Ministry of Secondary, Technical and Vocational Education, Mr. Sulieman, lauded the proprietor for his commitment to educational excellence and the steady growth of the institution.

The Chairman of the school's Parents-Teachers Association (PTA), Mr. Joseph D. Nanboh, described the maiden graduation ceremony as a significant milestone that underscored the value of collaboration between parents and teachers in shaping the future of children.

He praised the establishment of the school, saying it had eased the burden on parents by providing quality education within the community.

In their separate remarks, the Director of Abroad Crystal Academy, Mrs. Gwanye Ishaya Jonah, and the Head Teacher, Mr. Titus Bobbo Khanin, appreciated parents and guardians for their continued support, particularly through the prompt payment of school fees.

They appealed for sustained cooperation between parents and teachers to ensure the holistic development of the pupils, while encouraging students to remain focused and work harder in subsequent academic sessions.

The Head Boy, Isa Idris, and the Head Girl, Pheeomichila Christopher, expressed gratitude to their parents for investing in their education and commended their teachers for imparting knowledge and instilling discipline.

They pledged to remain committed to their studies and make both their parents and teachers proud through academic excellence and good conduct.

The colourful ceremony featured the presentation of awards and prizes to outstanding pupils and students, alongside cultural dance performances showcasing the rich heritage of the Mumuye, Jenjo and Fulani ethnic groups, among others.

INSECURITY:Bissaula Community Leader Raises Alarm Over Renewed Attack, Calls for Lasting Security Deployment.

A community leader in Bissaula Ward of Kurmi Local Government Area, Taraba State, Alhaji Idi Ismaila, has decried a fresh wave of violence that disrupted the fragile peace recently restored to the area. He made the remarks during a press briefing where he recounted the latest attack and appealed for urgent government intervention. According to Ismaila, the Bissaula community was thrown into panic on Wednesday, 19 November 2025, at about 8:00 p.m., when unknown gunmen, suspected to be members of the Ndaka-Chamba militia, stormed the village and opened fire. INSECURITY: Two suspected kidnappers nabbed in Mayo Dassa, Jalingo.

Troops of six Brigade Nigerian Army headquarters ,Jalingo have dismantled a notorious kidnapping syndicate terrorizing parts of Jalingo and Lau Local Government Areas of Taraba State.  A statement by Acting Assistant Director Army Public Relations Six Brigade Nigeria Army headquarters, Jalingo, Captain Olubodunde Oni says the Brigade act on an intelligence report and two suspects, identified as Ali Idi and Haruna Umar were apprehended early this week.
