JUSTICE: NUTASS Demands Thorough Probe into Alleged Assault of Taraba State University Student Jalingo.

The National Union of Taraba State Students (NUTASS) has called for a swift, transparent and impartial investigation into the alleged incident involving Miss Faith Dan Asabe, a student of Taraba State University.

In a press statement issued on Thursday by the President of NUTASS, Comrade Mary Nshukwi Yaje, the union expressed deep concern over reports circulating on social media regarding the alleged incident, describing it as disturbing and deserving of urgent attention by security agencies.

The students' body condemned all forms of violence, exploitation, abuse, ritual-related crimes and any act capable of endangering the lives and dignity of students and members of the public.

NUTASS urged the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services (DSS), and other relevant security agencies to conduct a thorough, professional and unbiased investigation into the matter.

The union stressed that anyone found culpable after due investigation should be made to face the full weight of the law.

While investigations continue, NUTASS appealed to members of the public to remain calm, avoid spreading unverified information, and refrain from making conclusions that could obstruct justice or create unnecessary tension.

The union also called on the Taraba State Government, the management of Taraba State University and other relevant stakeholders to ensure that the affected student receives adequate medical attention, psychological support and all necessary protection throughout the period of investigation.

Reaffirming its commitment to the welfare of students, NUTASS pledged to continue collaborating with relevant authorities to promote justice, accountability and a safe learning environment across tertiary institutions in Taraba State.

The statement was copied to the Taraba State Commissioner for Tertiary Education, the Commissioner of Police, the Director of the Department of State Services, the Vice-Chancellor of Taraba State University, and other relevant security agencies.

A community leader in Bissaula Ward of Kurmi Local Government Area, Taraba State, Alhaji Idi Ismaila, has decried a fresh wave of violence that disrupted the fragile peace recently restored to the area. INSECURITY: Two suspected kidnappers nabbed in Mayo Dassa, Jalingo.

Troops of six Brigade Nigerian Army headquarters ,Jalingo have dismantled a notorious kidnapping syndicate terrorizing parts of Jalingo and Lau Local Government Areas of Taraba State.
