INTERVENTION : Takum Clash Victims Get Food, Relief Materials from TSEMA, NEMA.

The Taraba State Emergency Management Agency (TSEMA), in collaboration with the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), has distributed relief materials to 300 households affected by recent communal clashes in Takum Local Government Area of the state.

The intervention benefited victims from Chanchangi, Yamma, Kufai Amadu, Mamie Market, Rubar and Sufa communities, providing essential food and non-food items to families displaced by the crisis.

According to TSEMA, the intervention aligns with the commitment of Governor Dr. Agbu Kefas to the welfare of Taraba residents, particularly vulnerable persons affected by conflicts and other emergencies. The agency said the governor's administration remains focused on ensuring timely support for citizens facing humanitarian challenges.

The agency also expressed appreciation to the Federal Government and NEMA for the prompt intervention, describing it as a demonstration of effective collaboration between the two tiers of government in responding to humanitarian needs.

The distribution exercise was led by Mr. Malut Adam Hussain, who represented the Director-General of NEMA, Mrs. Zubaida Umar. Addressing beneficiaries, Hussain conveyed the Director-General's sympathy to the affected families and reaffirmed the Federal Government's commitment to supporting communities impacted by disasters and communal conflicts. He urged recipients to make good use of the relief materials while promoting peaceful coexistence.

Speaking on behalf of the Executive Secretary of TSEMA, Dr. Echuseh Audu, the agency's Director of Administration, Sani Garba Maisukwati, described the intervention as a reflection of the Federal Government's Renewed Hope Agenda. He commended NEMA for its continued partnership with the Taraba State Government under Governor Agbu Kefas in addressing the humanitarian needs of vulnerable communities across the state.

Items distributed during the exercise included bags of rice and maize, cartons of spaghetti, vegetable oil, tomato paste, seasoning cubes, iodized salt, guinea brocade, wax print fabrics and mats.

Officials of NEMA, TSEMA, community leaders and security agencies supervised the distribution to ensure transparency and accountability, with all approved beneficiaries receiving their allocated relief materials.

TSEMA reiterated its commitment to sustaining collaboration with NEMA, the Federal Government and other stakeholders to provide timely assistance to vulnerable communities and support the state's vision of a peaceful, secure and prosperous Taraba.

INSECURITY:Bissaula Community Leader Raises Alarm Over Renewed Attack, Calls for Lasting Security Deployment.

A community leader in Bissaula Ward of Kurmi Local Government Area, Taraba State, Alhaji Idi Ismaila, has decried a fresh wave of violence that disrupted the fragile peace recently restored to the area. He made the remarks during a press briefing where he recounted the latest attack and appealed for urgent government intervention. According to Ismaila, the Bissaula community was thrown into panic on Wednesday, 19 November 2025, at about 8:00 p.m., when unknown gunmen, suspected to be members of the Ndaka-Chamba militia, stormed the village and opened fire. INSECURITY: Two suspected kidnappers nabbed in Mayo Dassa, Jalingo.

Troops of six Brigade Nigerian Army headquarters ,Jalingo have dismantled a notorious kidnapping syndicate terrorizing parts of Jalingo and Lau Local Government Areas of Taraba State. A statement by Acting Assistant Director Army Public Relations Six Brigade Nigeria Army headquarters, Jalingo, Captain Olubodunde Oni says the Brigade act on an intelligence report and two suspects, identified as Ali Idi and Haruna Umar were apprehended early this week.
