McNuki Commiserates with Sanwi Monarch, Meets Mayolope Stakeholders…Reaffirms commitment to inclusive representation and development.

By Our Correspondent Hon. Benard Anthony Nuki, popularly known as McNuki, has paid a condolence visit to the Paramount Ruler of Sanwi Chiefdom, His Royal Highness Pastor Haniel H. Banti, to sympathize with him over the demise of his wife, Her Royal Majesty Kpansuribi Hinlewheni Banti. During the visit yesterday, Hon. Nuki expressed heartfelt condolences to the monarch, the royal family, and the entire Sanwi Chiefdom, describing the late queen as a virtuous woman whose legacy of peace, compassion, and devotion to community service will continue to be remembered. He explained that the visit was both an act of solidarity and an affirmation of the longstanding bond between him and the Sanwi royal family. The condolence call also provided an opportunity for Hon. Rev. Fr. Muke Urges Renewed Faith as Christians Mark All Souls’ Day.

By Keke, Jalingo — November 2, 2025 Christians have been called to renew their faith in the promise of eternal life as they commemorate All Souls’ Day, a day set aside to honour the faithful departed. The Special Adviser to the Taraba State Governor on Christian Religious Matters, Very Rev. Fr. Sunday Patrick Muke, made the call in a solemn message issued on Sunday in Jalingo. Quoting from the Gospel of John 6:37–40, Fr. Southern Conference of United Methodist Church Declares Crisis Over Herders’ Activities, Calls for State of Emergency.

The leadership of the Southern Conference of the United Methodist Church (SCUMC) has raised the alarm over the escalating activities of herders in Taraba State, calling on both the state and federal governments to declare a state of emergency to curb the menace. Addressing Journalists at UMC Bishop's Court,Lankaviri through the Dean of Cabinet, Rev. Dr. Philip Micah Dopah (FIMA, JP), the Church described the situation as a “humanitarian crisis” that has devastated farmlands and threatened the livelihoods of many of its members across several local government areas. Taraba State Govt raises alarm over outbreak of Bird Flu.

By Sylvanus Viashima, Jalingo  Taraba State government has raised the alarm over an outbreak of Avian Influenza Virus (Bird Flu) in some parts of Wukari Local Government Area of the State.  State Commissioner of Agriculture Professor Nicholas Namessan disclose this at a Press conference in Jalingo on Saturday.  Namessan, who was represented by Director Veterinary Services in the Ministry Dr Francis Nathan, said that measures are already in place to avoid the spread of the outbreak to other parts of the State and ensure adequate sensitisation to contain the situation.  "I call to brief you on the outbreak of the highly pathogenic Avian Influenza Virus commonly known as Bird Flu in Jibu area of Wukari Local Government.
