SERMON:Apostle Gabriel Shitto Preaches on Believers’ Identity and Power

By Jako,November 23,2025.
Worshippers at the Jesus Celebration Worship Center (JCWC), Jalingo, were on Sunday charged to rediscover their spiritual identity and walk boldly in the authority given to them by God. The message was delivered by the Senior Pastor of Jesus Celebration Ministry (JCM), Apostle Gabriel Shitto, during his sermon titled “The Believer’s Identity — You Are Empowered.”

Drawing from key scriptures including 1 Peter 2:9, Luke 10:19, and Ephesians 2:6, Apostle Shitto emphasized that many Christians fail to manifest God’s power because they do not fully believe or understand the identity bestowed upon them in Christ.

According to him, “Power is not something you chase; it is something you carry."

Referencing 1 Peter 2:9, he reminded the congregation that believers are a chosen people set apart for God’s glory. He noted that divine empowerment is an inheritance, stressing that God strengthens those He calls.

Speaking from Luke 10:19, the Apostle taught that believers possess legal spiritual authority over sin, sickness, delay, demonic forces, and every form of darkness.
“Authority is your badge; power is your weapon,” he declared, urging worshippers to embrace their God-given mandate.

Citing Ephesians 2:6, Apostle Shitto explained that being “seated with Christ” denotes rulership and spiritual advantage. He encouraged the church to pray and speak with the consciousness of operating from a higher realm backed by the kingdom of heaven.

He further noted that understanding one’s identity in Christ eliminates fear and intimidation. “A man who knows he is a king does not tremble before servants,” he said, calling on believers to reject negative labels and boldly affirm who God says they are.

The message also referenced the popular Sinach song “I Know Who I Am,” which the Apostle said reflected the confidence every Christian should carry.

The service concluded with prayers asking God to open the eyes of believers to their true identity in Christ. Apostle Shitto led the congregation in bold declarations, affirming:
“I am chosen. I am empowered. I walk in authority. I am seated with Christ. I carry the power of God.”
Apostle Gabriel Shitto expressed blessings over the congregation and encouraged members to continue walking in the confidence of their divine identity.

Kurmi on the Brink: Why Silence Now Could Spell Disaster

By The Nigerian Newspointer Editorial Board In the quiet hills and lush forests of Kurmi Local Government Area of Taraba State, an uneasy wind is blowing. Reports of an unusual influx of Fulani and Hausa migrants fleeing violence in Northern Nigeria have unsettled the peace of this agrarian enclave. Migration in itself is not new—men and women have always moved in search of safety, trade, and survival. But what is happening in Kurmi today bears markers that Nigeria has, sadly, seen before. And if urgent steps are not taken, the consequences could be dire. A Pattern Too Familiar From Plateau to Benue, from Southern Kaduna to Zamfara, Nigeria’s troubled history is littered with stories of migration that started innocently but later spiraled into violent conflicts. Farmers and herders once lived in uneasy but manageable coexistence until land sales, unchecked settlements, and political silence turned simple disputes into ethnic conflagrations. The echoes of those past crises are now knock...
