The United Methodist Church Nigeria (UMCN) Episcopal Area has announced the passing of one of its longest-serving and highly respected clerics, Rev. Ayuba A. Ndule, describing his death as a great loss to the church and the Christian community in Taraba State.
Rev. Ndule, revered for his humility, steadfastness and exemplary service, was celebrated as a seasoned seminary teacher, administrator and passionate evangelist who devoted his life to the advancement of the Gospel and the growth of the United Methodist Church in Nigeria.
In a condolence message delivered on behalf of pastors, the extended cabinet and members across the Nigeria Episcopal Area—including the mission districts of Cameroon and Senegal—Bishop Ande I. Emmanuel expressed deep sorrow over the “shocking” demise of the veteran cleric.
The statement was signed by Rev. Filibus Bakari Auta, Director of Communications, Nigeria Episcopal Area, on behalf of Bishop Ande I. Emmanuel.
Bishop Emmanuel conveyed heartfelt condolences to the Ndule family, the church community, and Christians in Taraba State, noting that Rev. Ndule’s ministry was marked by unwavering dedication to God and a lifetime spent nurturing believers and expanding the work of the church.
“Rev. Ndule will be remembered for his exceptional leadership, mentorship and service,” the Bishop said, describing him as one of the pioneer pastors whose contributions laid a strong foundation for the growth of the UMCN. He called on members of the church and the public to join in celebrating the life and impactful ministry of the late cleric.
The bishop added that Rev. Ndule’s legacy of nurturing younger pastors, shaping theological education and building strong church communities would continue to inspire future generations.
The United Methodist Church Nigeria prayed for the peaceful repose of his soul.
