POLITICS:Support Group Urges Prof.Jerome Nyamehto join ADC,cites Leadership Qualities and Political Value.

By Jako,November 21,2025.
The People’s Movement Support Group has appealed to former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, Professor Jerome Nyameh, to join the African Democratic Congress (ADC), describing the party as a credible platform for his political advancement and a viable alternative for the people of Taraba State.

In a statement signed by Abdul Usman Gassol and issued on Friday, the group urged the professor to consider the ADC as his new political home following his resignation from the PDP on July 21, 2025. His exit, they noted, came at a time when the PDP was battling what they called a “national internal crisis.”

The group highlighted Nyameh’s political influence, recalling his emergence as runner-up in the 2022 PDP governorship primary—a contest they described as keenly fought and reflective of his “widespread acceptability and leadership strength.”

According to the statement, Professor Nyameh’s academic pedigree, integrity, intellectual depth, and commitment to public service have earned him admiration across party lines, making him one of Taraba’s most respected political figures.

The African Democratic Congress, the group said, aligns with Nyameh’s values of good governance, equity, and sustainable development. They argued that his deep understanding of Taraba’s unique challenges and opportunities makes him an ideal figure to strengthen the ADC’s structure and position it as a formidable opposition force in the state.

“Your joining the ADC would not only enhance the party’s profile but also provide the people of Taraba State with a trusted, competent, and visionary leader capable of driving the positive change they earnestly desire,” the statement read.

The group urged Prof. Nyameh to accept the call and lend his experience and goodwill to building what they described as “a new political order” that prioritizes the welfare and development of Taraba State.

Kurmi on the Brink: Why Silence Now Could Spell Disaster

By The Nigerian Newspointer Editorial Board In the quiet hills and lush forests of Kurmi Local Government Area of Taraba State, an uneasy wind is blowing. Reports of an unusual influx of Fulani and Hausa migrants fleeing violence in Northern Nigeria have unsettled the peace of this agrarian enclave. Migration in itself is not new—men and women have always moved in search of safety, trade, and survival. But what is happening in Kurmi today bears markers that Nigeria has, sadly, seen before. And if urgent steps are not taken, the consequences could be dire. A Pattern Too Familiar From Plateau to Benue, from Southern Kaduna to Zamfara, Nigeria’s troubled history is littered with stories of migration that started innocently but later spiraled into violent conflicts. Farmers and herders once lived in uneasy but manageable coexistence until land sales, unchecked settlements, and political silence turned simple disputes into ethnic conflagrations. The echoes of those past crises are now knock...
