A Taraba State High Court sitting in Jalingo has sentenced four men to life imprisonment for orchestrating a staged kidnapping plot aimed at extorting ransom from the families of two young women. Justice Agya, delivering judgment in case number TRSJ/75C/2021, found the convicts—Prosper Paul, Samuel David, Nosiu Buba, and Samuel Kelvin—guilty of attempted kidnapping, contrary to Sections 4 and 5 of the Taraba State Kidnapping and Abduction (Prohibition) Law of 2019 (as amended). Peace Advocate Urges Lawmaker to Sponsor Bill for Creation of Chiefdoms in Ardo Kola LGA.

Happy Shonruba, to sponsor a motion for the creation of three chiefdoms within Ardo Kola Local Government Area. The appeal was made in an open letter addressed to the lawmaker by Comrade Keke Moses, a peace journalist and advocate for good governance in Taraba State. In the letter, Moses urged Hon. Shonruba to take legislative steps towards the establishment of Kola Chiefdom (to be led by a Mumuye traditional ruler), Bakin Dutse Chiefdom (for a Kona ruler), and Ardo Chiefdom (for a Fulani ruler).
