POLITICS: Taraba 2025: Lau Youth Round Table Backs Hon. Steve Innocent Solomon for Local Government Chairmanship

As political activities ahead of the 2025 local government elections intensify in Taraba State, the Lau Youth Round Table, a coalition of forward-thinking and development-driven young people, has officially endorsed Hon. Steve Innocent Solomon as its preferred candidate for the Chairmanship of Lau Local Government Area.

In a statement jointly signed by Comrade Babangida Tambata Bujum, Chairman, and Comrade Zamani Waziri Hamuel, Secretary, the group described Solomon as a visionary leader with the track record, passion, and competence to reposition Lau for accelerated growth and inclusive development.

“Hon. Steve Innocent Solomon represents leadership with purpose. He is a man who listens to the people, understands our challenges, and has the blueprint to address them,” the statement read.

Highlighting his achievements in community service and advocacy, the group lauded Solomon’s commitment to tackling key development issues, including infrastructure, education, healthcare, job creation, and youth/women empowerment.

“We believe Hon. Solomon embodies the hopes and aspirations of Lau’s youth. His plans to build access roads, revive education, and invest in our future are not just promises—they are priorities rooted in action and accountability,” the youth leaders added.

The group emphasized that the upcoming local government elections are a critical moment for young people to rise beyond partisan lines and support a leader who has consistently engaged the youth and prioritized their welfare.

“We, the youth, are no longer spectators—we are active stakeholders in shaping the destiny of our local government. And we proudly align ourselves with a man who believes in our capacity and has proven that leadership can be both responsive and responsible,” they said.

Calling on the people of Lau irrespective of tribe, religion, or political affiliation, the group urged a collective push to support Solomon’s candidacy, describing him as “the right man at the right time for the right job.”
