Peace and Justice Commission Summons Key Individuals Over Karim Lamido Crisis.

 The Peace and Justice Commission of Inquiry into the recent Karim Lamido crisis and other conflict areas in Taraba State has summoned eleven key individuals to appear before it in continuation of its investigation into the unrest.

According to a notice issued on July 25, 2025, and signed by the Commission’s Secretary on behalf of the Chairman, the summons is made pursuant to Section 7 of the Commission of Inquiry Law (Cap 34) 1997.

Those summoned are expected to appear before the Commission on Monday, July 28, 2025, at 9:30 a.m. at the Conference Hall of the Bureau for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, State Secretariat, Jalingo.

The individuals include:

1. Bishop John Wesley Yohana of Jalingo


2. Haji Tashi Yau of Munga Dosso


3. Ladi Tashi Yau of Munga Dosso


4. Luda Tashi Yau of Munga Dosso


5. Luda Ali Yuguda of Munga Dosso


6. SP David Misa, Police Headquarters, Jalingo


7. ASP Linus Michael, Police Headquarters, Jalingo


8. Capt. John Datol, 6 Brigade, Nigerian Army, Jalingo


9. Alhaji Manu Jinginu Dojja of Munga Dosso


10. Jokadi Ibrahim of Munga Dosso


11. Bakwi Ibrahim of Munga Dosso



The Commission is tasked with investigating the causes and impacts of the violence in Karim Lamido and recommending actionable steps to promote peace and justice across the affected communities.

This latest move signals a significant phase in the Commission’s fact-finding efforts, as it seeks testimonies from religious leaders, community members, and security operatives directly linked to the crisis zones.

The public and relevant stakeholders are expected to monitor the proceedings as the Commission intensifies its inquiry into the persistent communal violence troubling parts of Taraba State.

INSECURITY: Two suspected kidnappers nabbed in Mayo Dassa, Jalingo.

Troops of six Brigade Nigerian Army headquarters ,Jalingo have dismantled a notorious kidnapping syndicate terrorizing parts of Jalingo and Lau Local Government Areas of Taraba State.  A statement by Acting Assistant Director Army Public Relations Six Brigade Nigeria Army headquarters, Jalingo, Captain Olubodunde Oni says the Brigade act on an intelligence report and two suspects, identified as Ali Idi and Haruna Umar were apprehended early this week. RELIGION: UMC-N Bishop Ande Emmanuel decries continual tensions,calls on Gov.Agbu to waive into the matter.

The Resident Bishop United Methodist Church Nigeria  Episcopal Area, Ande Emmanuel has decried continual tensions impacting the church in Nigeria. The Bishop, in a Press briefing in Jalingo, condemned any act of violence or disrespect to the church, referencing the attack at Banyan Theological Seminary in the Bambur Community of Karim Lamido Local government area.
