Spinal Cord Injury Association Commends Governor Kefas for Establishing Taraba Disability Commission

The Taraba State Chapter of the Spinal Cord Injury Association of Nigeria (SCIAN) has applauded Governor Agbu Kefas for signing into law the bill establishing the Taraba State Disability Commission, describing the move as a groundbreaking step toward inclusion and empowerment for persons with disabilities.
In an official statement signed by the Chairperson of SCIAN in Taraba, Mary James Gaisa, the association expressed deep appreciation for the Governor’s commitment to the welfare of persons with disabilities, noting that the creation of the commission will help address long-standing challenges faced by the community.
“This milestone marks a significant step towards inclusivity and empowerment for Persons with Disabilities in Taraba State,” the statement read.
SCIAN also expressed its readiness to work closely with the newly established commission to ensure effective implementation of policies and programs that will improve the lives of persons with disabilities across the state.
“Thank you for your leadership and vision,” the Chairperson added, highlighting the association’s confidence in the Governor’s continued advocacy for marginalized groups.
The Disability Commission is expected to play a key role in promoting accessibility, enforcing rights, and advancing opportunities for individuals with disabilities throughout Taraba State.
