Fr. Dr. Williams Peter Awoshiri, in Jalingo.

The delegation said the purpose of the visit was to congratulate Rev. Awoshiri on his leadership and to formally identify with him as a spiritual father and mentor in the region.

The visit also served as an opportunity to brief him on the upcoming YOWICAN North-East Convention, scheduled to hold from November 6 to 9, 2025, in Jalingo, the Taraba State capital.

Speaking during the visit, Evangelist Ephesian Jesse expressed appreciation for Rev. Awoshiri’s impactful leadership and ongoing commitment to the unity of the Christian faith in the state and region

“We are here to congratulate our CAN Chairman and also to align with his vision. As youths, we believe in working together with the church leadership to strengthen the faith, build peace, and equip young Christians for leadership,” he said.

In his response, Very Rev. Fr. Dr. Williams Peter Awoshiri warmly received the delegation and commended their initiative. He urged the youth leaders to uphold the values of unity, faith, and integrity, stressing the importance of collective responsibility in building a stronger Christian community.

“Youths are the strength of the church. For YOWICAN to succeed, there must be unity of purpose and a shared vision rooted in Christ,” the CAN Chairman said.

The meeting ended with prayers for a successful convention and deeper collaboration between the youth body and the broader Christian leadership in the region. The YOWICAN North-East Convention is expected to bring together Christian youths from across the six states of the region for worship, leadership training, and interfaith dialogue.
