EDUCATION: Taraba State University Suspends All Student Associations Over Indiscipline, Insubordination.

This was contained in a circular signed by the Registrar, Dr. Joseph U. Bibinu, and dated October 17, 2025. FG Withdraws Registration certificate of National Youth Council of Nigeria.

The Federal Ministry of Youth Development has withdrawn the registration certificate of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) following an official communication from the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC). According to a statement signed by Omolara Esan, Director of Information and Public Relations in the Ministry, the certificate earlier issued to the NYCN on October 28, 2020, has been revoked after a detailed review of the Council’s records and governance practices. The CAC, after its investigation, discovered serial violations of both the NYCN Constitution and the provisions of the Companies and Allied Matters Act (CAMA) 2020, specifically Sections 833 and 834. As a result, the Commission has de-recognized all existing claims to leadership, trusteeship, and management within the organization. The Police Service Commission (PSC) has dispatched a high-powered delegation to Kano to oversee the commencement of the 2025 Police Academy (POLAC) admission screening exercise, which began Monday, October 6, 2025, in Wudil, Kano State. Leading the delegation are retired Justice of the Supreme Court, Justice Paul Adamu Galumje, representing the Judiciary in the Commission, and DIG Taiwo Lakanu (fdc), representing the Police and serving as Chairman of the PSC Standing Committee on Police Matters. The move comes as part of the Commission’s renewed commitment to transparency and accountability in police recruitment.
