WORKS:Governor Kefas Fulfils Promise as Contractors Return to Kurmi Roads.

Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, has fulfilled his promise to the people of Kurmi Local Government Area by remobilising contractors to resume work on key road projects in the area.

The State Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure Development, Hon. Museh Luka, led officials of the ministry on an inspection tour of the ongoing road projects from Baissa to Abong to assess progress and ensure compliance with specifications.
Speaking after the inspection, Hon. Luka explained that the visit was to confirm that contractors had resumed work as directed, following the release of funds by the governor. He disclosed that the contractors had been given a six-month deadline to complete the projects.

“The governor has demonstrated strong commitment to improving road infrastructure, particularly in hard-to-reach areas like Kurmi. The Ministry will closely monitor the projects to ensure timely delivery and adherence to quality standards,” the commissioner said.

Also speaking, the Director of Civil Engineering in the Ministry, Engr. Luntsi Jimmy Johnson, expressed satisfaction with the level of work done so far. He assured residents that the roads would soon be completed and opened for use.

He, however, warned that any contractor who fails to meet the terms of the contract would be reported to the governor for appropriate sanctions.

Representatives of China Zhonghaon Construction Company Nigeria Limited, Mr. White,and Mr Pang both pledged the company’s readiness to complete the projects within the stipulated timeframe, despite the long rainy season in Kurmi.

In his remarks, the Chairman of Kurmi Local Government Council, Hon. Moses Maihankali, commended Governor Kefas for revisiting the abandoned road projects, describing the development as a major step toward boosting economic activities and easing transportation challenges in the area.

Some community members who spoke with journalists also expressed appreciation to the governor for his intervention, promising full cooperation and support to the contractors to ensure successful completion of the projects.

TARABA: Jenjo Youth Wing Disowns Magaji Gago’s Alleged Remarks Against Kefas, Reaffirms Loyalty.

INSECURITY:Bissaula Community Leader Raises Alarm Over Renewed Attack, Calls for Lasting Security Deployment.

A community leader in Bissaula Ward of Kurmi Local Government Area, Taraba State, Alhaji Idi Ismaila, has decried a fresh wave of violence that disrupted the fragile peace recently restored to the area. He made the remarks during a press briefing where he recounted the latest attack and appealed for urgent government intervention. According to Ismaila, the Bissaula community was thrown into panic on Wednesday, 19 November 2025, at about 8:00 p.m., when unknown gunmen, suspected to be members of the Ndaka-Chamba militia, stormed the village and opened fire.
