By Jako, October 26,2025.

It was a radiant day in Jalingo as friends, family members, and admirers gathered to celebrate a woman whose quiet strength and selfless service have touched many lives. The atmosphere brimmed with emotion and gratitude when Mrs. Susana Alfred Bala Kona was conferred with an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Humanity by the Dominion of Impact International Bible School, in recognition of her unwavering dedication to humanitarian causes and community development.

The award ceremony, graced by distinguished guests and dignitaries, reflected a blend of academic dignity and spiritual thanksgiving. Representing the President of the institution, Ambassador Professor Daniel Solomon Patrick, PhD, was the Vice Chancellor of Taraba State University, Professor Sunday Paul Bako, who presented the honour to Mrs. Kona on behalf of the Bible School.

In his brief remark, Professor Bako commended the recipient for her commitment to uplifting others and for embodying the virtues of empathy, leadership, and service.

He noted that the institution deemed it fit to honour individuals whose lives reflect genuine impact, adding that Mrs. Kona’s record of community service speaks volumes about her character and values.

The hall erupted in applause as the visibly elated honouree stepped forward to receive her award. Overwhelmed by the recognition, Mrs. Kona expressed deep appreciation to God, the management of the Bible School, and everyone who had supported her journey. She described the honour as “a call to greater service,” pledging to continue touching lives and promoting moral and social transformation wherever she finds herself.

Among the guests who celebrated with her was her in-law and political figure, Hon. Bernard Anthony Nuki, a House of Representatives hopeful for Ardo Kola, Karim Lamido, and Lau Federal Constituency. In a heartfelt message, Hon. Nuki described Mrs. Kona as “a woman of rare grace, gentleness, and compassion whose life of service has inspired many.” He added that the award was “a well-deserved recognition and a prelude to even greater honours ahead.”

Beyond the glitz of the ceremony, the event symbolized the enduring value of humility and service — qualities that define Mrs. Kona’s journey. For many who know her, this recognition stands as a testament to her decades of silent impact in community life, mentorship, and faith-based service.

The Dominion of Impact International Bible School, which conferred the honour, is an affiliate of Agora International American University, Delaware, USA, an institution renowned for promoting leadership excellence and theological education across continents.

As the evening drew to a close, guests lingered with smiles and warm embraces a fitting tribute to a woman whose life continues to illuminate others with compassion and purpose.
