Benard Anthony Nuki: The Unbroken Spirit Driving a New Era of Representation.

By Jako

From the quiet settlement of Bandawa Gwenzu in Karim Lamido Local Government Area of Taraba State emerges a story of grit, grace, and uncommon perseverance the story of Hon. Benard Anthony Nuki, a man whose life journey from humble beginnings to national relevance has become a metaphor for hope and resilience.

Born and raised in a modest farming family, young Benard’s early years were defined by struggle and determination. Under the dim glow of a kerosene lamp, he nurtured dreams that seemed far beyond his reach. Yet, through faith and persistence, those dreams are now taking shape in remarkable ways.

A Journey Built on Resilience

Benard began his educational journey at Bandawa Gwenzu Primary School in 1989 and later attended Government Secondary School, Karim Lamido, before completing his studies at Government Day Secondary School, Lau, where he obtained his Senior School Certificate in 2002. That same year, tragedy struck the death of his father left him with emotional and financial challenges that threatened his education.

Undeterred, he journeyed across the country in search of opportunity — from Kwara to Niger State and eventually Abuja, where his resilience began to yield results. In the capital city, he acquired a Basic Certificate in Computer Studies, a step that opened new doors for him.

He was later admitted to the University of Abuja to study Public Administration, but fate intervened again when his sponsor died in a car accident, forcing him to withdraw. Many would have given up, but not Benard. Through sheer determination, he found work with Betterly Foundation, an NGO where he served as a Confidential Secretary. His diligence soon earned him the means to return to school, where he successfully completed a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, followed by a Master’s degree in Conflict Resolution.Mr Nuki travelled to the UK, South Africa, and Egypt in 2009, 2011, and 2013, respectively, all were sponsored by the Betnelly Foundation, the NGO I worked with.He is currently undertaking a program on Public Administration at the Prestigious Taraba State University,Jalingo.

Professional Excellence and Service

Over the years, Benard has built a reputation as a disciplined and purpose-driven professional. His career has spanned both the public and private sectors, including roles at Foundation for Better Nigeria, Fidelity Bank, FCMB, GTBank, and Pension PFA. In these institutions, he has served in capacities such as Secretary, Marketing Officer, and Business Development Executive.

In recognition of his contributions to financial inclusion and grassroots empowerment, he was awarded the Fellowship of the Microfinance Institute of Nigeria, a distinction that underscores his dedication to economic growth and community development.

A man guided by faith, his personal creed — “God is faithful and ethical in all principles” — reflects the moral foundation that shapes his leadership philosophy.

A Vision Rooted in the People

Having experienced hardship firsthand, Hon. Benard Nuki’s political vision is anchored in empathy, inclusion, and practical development. He believes representation should not be ceremonial but service-oriented a bridge between government and the people.

If elected to the House of Representatives, his legislative priorities will center on empowerment, education, health, agriculture, and infrastructure, ensuring that no community within his constituency is left behind.

His economic empowerment agenda focuses on launching youth and women development schemes to stimulate entrepreneurship and reduce unemployment.
On education, he plans to expand access through scholarships, and lobby for tertiary institutions and model schools to be established in underserved local governments.
His healthcare plan aims to ensure that every local government headquarters within his constituency is equipped with a functional healthcare facility.
In agriculture, he intends to advocate timely access to subsidized fertilizers, tractors, and other inputs to boost local production.
He also envisions improved social amenities — better roads, rural electrification, and stronger communication networks across villages.

Changing the Political Narrative

Hon. Nuki represents a growing class of Nigerians who see politics as a platform for service, not self-interest. He is determined to end the era of “seasonal politicians” who appear only during campaigns. His style of leadership emphasizes inclusive legislation, accountability, and open engagement with constituents.

“As long as we work together in sincerity and unity, we can build the Taraba of our dreams,” he says.

A Beacon of Hope

Benard Anthony Nuki’s story is more than a personal triumph; it is an inspiration to countless young Nigerians who face hardship yet dare to hope. From a rural child with limited means to a seasoned professional and visionary leader, he has lived the message he now preaches that success may be delayed, but it is never denied.

In a time when Nigeria yearns for leaders of integrity and empathy, Hon. Benard Anthony Nuki stands out as a man whose unbroken spirit, proven capacity, and people-centered vision promise a new dawn in public service.

Kurmi on the Brink: Why Silence Now Could Spell Disaster
