The 6 Brigade of the Nigerian Army, in collaboration with other security agencies in Taraba State, on Friday, October 31, 2025, held a joint route march through the streets of Jalingo to strengthen interagency cooperation and enhance operational readiness.
The exercise, organized by the 6 Brigade Nigerian Army/Sector 3 Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS), featured personnel from the Nigeria Police Force, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Nigeria Immigration Service, Taraba Marshal, and the Nigerian Red Cross Society.
Lieutenant Umar Muhammad Acting Assistant Director, Army Public Relations 6 Brigade Nigerian Army, Jalingo disclosed this in a statement issued to journalists in Jalingo,Taraba state.
Addressing participants before the commencement of the march, the Commander, 6 Brigade Nigerian Army/Sector 3 OPWS, Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa, emphasized that the exercise was part of the Nigerian Army’s ongoing efforts to ensure the physical fitness and mental alertness of its officers and men.
“Today’s route march is not just about fitness. It is a demonstration of our strength, unity, and readiness to defend our nation at all times,” Brig. Gen. Uwa stated. “It reminds us that discipline, teamwork, and endurance remain the hallmarks of our profession. As we step off, let us march with pride, purpose, and mutual respect, showing the people of Taraba and Nigeria that the security forces remain united, alert, and mission-ready.”
The event, which covered several major streets in Jalingo, drew the attention of residents who commended the show of unity and coordination among the participating agencies.
