CRIME: Troops Arrest Fake Policemen with Two Hilux Trucks Loaded with Cannabis in Taraba.

By Jako,October, 1,2025.  Troops of the 6 Brigade Nigerian Army, in collaboration with operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), have arrested two fake police officers in possession of vehicles loaded with cannabis in Taraba State. The arrest, which occurred at Takum Junction in Wukari Local Government Area, was made under Operation Lafiya Nakowa, a special operation aimed at flushing out bandits and other criminal elements in the state. According to military authorities, the suspects were intercepted while dressed in mobile police uniforms. Two Toyota Hilux vehicles they were traveling in were found loaded with 1,134 blocks of cannabis. Preliminary investigations revealed that the drugs had been transported from Akure, Ondo State, and were en route to Adamawa State before the interception. The APC, in a media report, alleged that the commission rejected its list of candidates for chairmanship and councillorship positions across the state. The party’s chairman, Barr. Ibrahim El-Sudi, accused TSIEC of bias, alleging collusion with the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to sideline opposition voices. CRIME: Police Arrest 31-Year-Old with Illegal Firearm in Karim-Lamido.

The Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP James Lashen Saminu, disclosed in a statement with Ref No. CZ:5650/TRS/SHQ/PPRO/VOL.T/66, dated September 27, 2025, that the arrest followed intensified security measures in the area. According to the statement, at about 5:45 p.m. on Saturday, operatives of the 40 Police Mobile Force (PMF) Jalingo, led by ASP Bitrus Benson, intercepted the suspect, identified as Gali Yunana of Munga Doso village, during a stop-and-search operation at Munga Lelau. AGRICULTURE: Appawa Village Head Urges Government to Support Farmers with Subsidies.
