ANNIVERSARY: Governor Mutfwang Celebrates Nigeria at 65, Calls for Peace and Unity

Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has joined millions of Nigerians at home and abroad in celebrating the country’s 65th Independence Anniversary, urging citizens to embrace peace, unity, and collective responsibility in building a stronger nation.

In a goodwill message on Wednesday, Governor Mutfwang described the anniversary as both a remarkable milestone and a solemn moment for reflection on Nigeria’s journey since independence. He said the day called for renewed commitment to national transformation that would improve the welfare and well-being of citizens.

The Governor paid tribute to the nation’s founding fathers, commending their courage, resilience, and spirit of togetherness which laid the foundation for Nigeria’s sovereignty.

“It is with pride and profound humility that I felicitate with patriotic Nigerians across the globe on this 65th Independence Anniversary. This milestone calls for sober reflection on our unity, peace, and progress as a nation. Our hope and confidence remain that God Almighty is at work in Nigeria, and despite our challenges, this nation shall surely rise to greatness,” he said.

Mutfwang reaffirmed his administration’s determination to build a peaceful and prosperous Plateau State, pledging to prioritize the protection of lives and property, infrastructural growth, and the promotion of unity across ethnic and religious divides. He also assured citizens of fair, just, and inclusive governance.

On behalf of the people of Plateau State, the Governor extended warm felicitations to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and all Nigerians, while praying for wisdom and integrity for leaders and lasting peace across the country.

The Governor’s goodwill message was signed by his Director of Press and Public Affairs, Gyang Bere.

RELIGION: UMC-N Bishop Ande Emmanuel decries continual tensions,calls on Gov.Agbu to waive into the matter.

The Resident Bishop United Methodist Church Nigeria  Episcopal Area, Ande Emmanuel has decried continual tensions impacting the church in Nigeria. The Bishop, in a Press briefing in Jalingo, condemned any act of violence or disrespect to the church, referencing the attack at Banyan Theological Seminary in the Bambur Community of Karim Lamido Local government area. INSECURITY: Two suspected kidnappers nabbed in Mayo Dassa, Jalingo.

Troops of six Brigade Nigerian Army headquarters ,Jalingo have dismantled a notorious kidnapping syndicate terrorizing parts of Jalingo and Lau Local Government Areas of Taraba State.  A statement by Acting Assistant Director Army Public Relations Six Brigade Nigeria Army headquarters, Jalingo, Captain Olubodunde Oni says the Brigade act on an intelligence report and two suspects, identified as Ali Idi and Haruna Umar were apprehended early this week. The statement adds that the culprits were captured during a raid at a local hotel in Mayo Dassa area of Jalingo metropolis where they were hiding.  It adds that Further investigations led to the discovery that the gang's hideout was at Kona Mountain in Jalingo , where additional members of the syndicate were believed to be camped.
