INDUCTION: UDUS Inducts 37 Radiography Graduates, Awards Outstanding Students.

 Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto (UDUS), has inducted 37 graduates of its Department of Radiography into the profession, marking the university’s 6th induction ceremony since the programme was established in 2012.

The event, held on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at the university’s auditorium, was conducted in partnership with the Radiographers Registration Board of Nigeria (RRBN).

Representing the Vice Chancellor, the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research, Innovation & Development), praised the graduands for their perseverance, describing them as “ambassadors of excellence” who are expected to uphold the ethics of the profession.

> “You are stepping into a profession that demands accuracy, compassion, and integrity. The university is proud of the standards you have attained, and we trust that you will distinguish yourselves as professionals of repute,” he said.



Head of the Department of Radiography, Dr Mohammed Abacha, commended the students for enduring the rigors of the five-year programme, noting that the induction symbolizes not just the completion of academic work but entry into a noble calling in healthcare delivery.

The ceremony featured special awards to outstanding graduands:

Best Graduating Students: Rad. Ibrahim Hassan and Rad. [Second Awardee], both with a CGPA of 4.46.

Best Female Graduate: Rad. Amina Musa Fago.

Best Class Representative: Rad. Abdulkareem Abdulkabir Olamilekan.

Additional recognitions were given for Most Responsible Student, Most Supportive Male/Female, and Best-Behaved Student.


In her vote of thanks, one of the awardees, Rad. Amina Musa Fago, expressed gratitude to the university and lecturers, pledging that the class would uphold the values of professionalism and service.

> “We dedicate our success to the sacrifices of our families, lecturers, and colleagues. As we step into the professional world, we remain committed to saving lives through diagnostic excellence,” she said.


Jalingo Times online newspaper reports that daughter of a senior lecturer in Taraba State Polytechnic Suntai Jalingo campus,Hon Kamalu Aliyu Babando Rad Rufaida Kamalu Bababndo was among those inducted.

The induction was attended by university officials, members of the Radiographers Registration Board of Nigeria, family members, and colleagues, with a call on the new professionals to serve humanity with dedication.
