Development: CAN Chairman Lays Foundation for Bible Society Guest House in Jalingo.

The Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Taraba State Chapter, Reverend Williams Awoshiri, has laid the foundation stone for the proposed Bible Society of Nigeria (BSN) Guest House in Jalingo.

The ceremony, which drew Christian leaders and stakeholders, was initiated under the leadership of the BSN Taraba State Chairperson, Dr. Filister Irarimam Musa.

In his remarks, Rev. Awoshiri commended Dr. Musa and her team for their resilience and foresight, describing the project as a milestone that would strengthen evangelism and aid the propagation of the gospel.

Also speaking, the Special Adviser to Governor Agbu Kefas on Christian Religious Matters, Very Rev. Fr. Patrick Muke, lauded the BSN leadership for the initiative. He assured that the state government would provide the necessary support for the timely completion of the project. Citing 1 Corinthians 3, he emphasized that any foundation laid on God would endure, before offering prayers for the success of the venture.

Explaining the vision behind the project, Dr.Filister Irarimam Musa the Chairman of Bible Society of Nigeria,BSN Taraba state Chapter, said the Guest House would not only provide quality accommodation services but also serve as a sustainable revenue source for the society. She thanked past BSN leaders for their contributions and acknowledged Governor Kefas for his consistent support.

She further appreciated former Governors Reverend Jolly Nyame and the late Danbaba Danfulani Suntai for their roles in securing land and facilitating the construction of the BSN Secretariat. Dr. Musa also extended gratitude to the CAN leadership in Taraba for their support.

In a vote of thanks, former BSN Chairman Elder John Sule expressed appreciation to dignitaries in attendance and urged continued support to ensure the project’s completion.

The architectural design for the BSN Guest House was prepared by Dr. Ishaya Ramat Samuel, Director of Works, Taraba State Polytechnic, Suntai.

A community leader in Bissaula Ward of Kurmi Local Government Area, Taraba State, Alhaji Idi Ismaila, has decried a fresh wave of violence that disrupted the fragile peace recently restored to the area.
