Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, has approved the constitution of a Project Monitoring Committee to oversee road construction projects across the 16 Local Government Areas of the state. The committee, according to a press release signed by the Secretary to the Government of the State (SGS), Chief Gebon Timothy Kataps, Esq., is expected to strengthen monitoring and ensure effective implementation of road projects being executed by the state government. The 6 Brigade Nigerian Army/Sector 3, Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS), has officially commenced operations from its new base in Wukari, Taraba State, following its relocation from Jalingo. The relocation, approved by the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), followed the establishment of the 10 Division Nigerian Army Headquarters in Jalingo and is aimed at strengthening the military’s operational presence and enhancing the fight against insecurity, particularly in southern Taraba. The Taraba State Emergency Management Agency (TSEMA), in collaboration with the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), has commenced the enumeration of persons and households affected by the 2025 flood disaster across selected Local Government Areas of Taraba State. The exercise is aimed at systematically identifying, registering and verifying individuals and households impacted by the disaster to establish an accurate database of flood victims and their immediate needs.
