SECURITY: 6 Brigade Relocates to Wukari, Intensifies Fight Against Insecurity.

The 6 Brigade Nigerian Army/Sector 3, Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS), has officially commenced operations from its new base in Wukari, Taraba State, following its relocation from Jalingo.

The relocation, approved by the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), followed the establishment of the 10 Division Nigerian Army Headquarters in Jalingo and is aimed at strengthening the military’s operational presence and enhancing the fight against insecurity, particularly in southern Taraba.

Speaking to troops and members of the press after the commencement of activities in Wukari, the Brigade Commander, Brigadier General Chukwuemeka Michael Akaliro, said the relocation would not affect the formation’s mandate, assuring residents that the Brigade remained committed to protecting lives and property and sustaining peace across its area of responsibility.

Akaliro said the Brigade would deploy both kinetic and non-kinetic approaches in tackling security challenges, while urging personnel to maintain discipline, professionalism and commitment to their constitutional duties. He added that the military would continue to collaborate with traditional institutions, communities and other relevant stakeholders to consolidate existing security gains.

As part of his engagement with the host community, the Commander paid a courtesy visit to the Aku-Uka of Wukari and Chairman of the Taraba State Council of Chiefs and Emirs, His Royal Majesty, Dr. Ishaku Adda Ali, at his palace, where he formally announced the Brigade’s operational presence in Wukari and sought the monarch’s royal blessing and support.

The monarch welcomed the Brigade to Wukari and assured the Commander of the continued cooperation of the traditional institution and the people of the area, stressing the importance of collaboration with security agencies in enabling the military to effectively discharge its constitutional responsibilities.

The Brigade also conducted a route march through Wukari and adjoining communities as part of activities marking the commencement of operations. The exercise, according to the Army, was designed to demonstrate the troops’ preparedness and discipline while reassuring residents of the military’s commitment to their safety. The event also featured a Quarter Guard, prayers, an address to troops, presentation of souvenirs and group photographs.

The relocation is expected to enhance the operational capabilities of the Nigerian Army in southern Taraba and complement the activities of the newly established 10 Division Headquarters in Jalingo as security agencies intensify efforts to maintain peace and protect communities across the state.

INSECURITY:Bissaula Community Leader Raises Alarm Over Renewed Attack, Calls for Lasting Security Deployment.

A community leader in Bissaula Ward of Kurmi Local Government Area, Taraba State, Alhaji Idi Ismaila, has decried a fresh wave of violence that disrupted the fragile peace recently restored to the area. INSECURITY: Two suspected kidnappers nabbed in Mayo Dassa, Jalingo.

Troops of six Brigade Nigerian Army headquarters ,Jalingo have dismantled a notorious kidnapping syndicate terrorizing parts of Jalingo and Lau Local Government Areas of Taraba State.
