The Nigerian Army Officers’ Wives Association (NAOWA), under the leadership of its President, Mrs. Mernan Femi Oloyede, has brought the spirit of Christmas to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Jalingo, Taraba State. The Christmas outreach, held on 23 December 2024 at the IDP Camp located in Shawuya Primary School, Abuja Phase 1, was organized to bring hope and relief to the displaced families in the area.    The Commandant Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Taraba State Command Anthony Bala Bitrus has today paraded suspected vandals at the Command Headquarters Mile six Jalingo.    Commandant Anthony while parading the suspects said the arrest of the suspected vandals came as a result of active collaboration between the NSCDC Anti Vandal Unit and men of the Nigerian Army.    The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Taraba State Command has taken delivery of nine (9) HUNTER 100 Motorcycles from the Taraba State Government.    The government said the donation was to ease access of the security agencies to remote areas in the state in order to stem the tide of insecurity.    While receiving the motorcycles, the State Commandant Anthony Bala Bitrus thanked His Excellency the Governor of Taraba State Dr. Agbu Kefas for the kind gesture shown to his Command. He promised that the personnel of the Command would make good use of the motorcycles in their operations.    The Commandant handed over the keys of the motorcycles to the MTO of the Command with strict instructions to ensure proper maintainance of the vehicles.    It will be recalled that the present administration in Taraba State has donated fourteen (14) brand new operational vehicles as well as refurbished ten (10) old ones for the smooth...

In a series of decisive operations, troops of the 6 Brigade Nigerian Army/Sector 3 Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) have recorded significant successes in curbing criminal activities in Taraba State. On 18 December 2024, acting on credible human intelligence, troops tracked and apprehended four suspected members of the Ambazonia rebel group at a hotel in Takum. In line with the Nigerian Army's commitment to safeguarding national resources and ensuring compliance with environmental laws, troops of 6 Brigade, deployed at Garba Chede checkpoint in Bali Local Government Area, have apprehended a group of illegal miners and seized suspected precious stones being transported out of the area. Acting on credible intelligence, the vigilant troops on 17 December intercepted a truck with a foreign registration number B 0515 VV, which was found to be concealing illegally mined products.  The suspected precious stones were hidden in sack bags covered with dry grasses in a bid to evade detection.
