EMPOWERMENT: DG Zira charges training beneficiaries on self-reliance

The Poverty Alleviation and Wealth Creation Agency, PAWECA, in Adamawa has successfully concluded training of one thousand five hundred households across the state.

The training which is in partnership with the Sustainable Development Goals, SDGs, comprised of women folk drawn from the two hundred and twenty six political wards across the state coached on various skills acquisition with focus on Small and Medium Enterprises.

In a remark at the closing ceremony, Director General, Poverty Alleviation and Wealth Creation Agency, PAWECA, Doctor Michael Zira expressed delight with the success of the training programme.

He urged the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the skills they learned to enhance their personal income and provoke for self reliance.

Doctor Zira who explained that empowering women and youths is among the top priorities of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri expressed resolve to maintaining the posture in that regard.

Corroborating, the state women leader of the People Democratic Party, PDP, Doctor Suzan Zira appreciated the sponsors of the training and challenged the participants to justify the training by prudently engaging in an economically viable production.

Skills learned included local seasoning, Vaseline, and liquid fertilizer among others.

INSECURITY:Bissaula Community Leader Raises Alarm Over Renewed Attack, Calls for Lasting Security Deployment.

A community leader in Bissaula Ward of Kurmi Local Government Area, Taraba State, Alhaji Idi Ismaila, has decried a fresh wave of violence that disrupted the fragile peace recently restored to the area. He made the remarks during a press briefing where he recounted the latest attack and appealed for urgent government intervention. INSECURITY: Two suspected kidnappers nabbed in Mayo Dassa, Jalingo.

Troops of six Brigade Nigerian Army headquarters ,Jalingo have dismantled a notorious kidnapping syndicate terrorizing parts of Jalingo and Lau Local Government Areas of Taraba State. A statement by Acting Assistant Director Army Public Relations Six Brigade Nigeria Army headquarters, Jalingo, Captain Olubodunde Oni says the Brigade act on an intelligence report and two suspects, identified as Ali Idi and Haruna Umar were apprehended early this week.
