NAOWA TAKES CHRISTMAS OUTREACH TO IDPs IN TARABA STATE, REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO UNITY AND CHARITY

The Nigerian Army Officers’ Wives Association (NAOWA), under the leadership of its President, Mrs. Mernan Femi Oloyede, has brought the spirit of Christmas to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Jalingo, Taraba State. The Christmas outreach, held on 23 December 2024 at the IDP Camp located in Shawuya Primary School, Abuja Phase 1, was organized to bring hope and relief to the displaced families in the area.

Representing the NAOWA President at the event, the NAOWA Zonal Coordinator for the 6 Brigade Chapter, Dr. Mrs. Rachael Uwa, highlighted the significance of the outreach program, which aligns with NAOWA's core values of “Unity and Charity.”

This is contained in a Press Statement issued by the Acting Assistant Director Six Brigade Army Public Relations Captain Olubodunde Oni to the Jalingo Times.

She remarked, "This outreach program is a reflection of NAOWA’s core values, encapsulated in our motto, ‘Unity and Charity.’ It represents our collective commitment to fostering hope, compassion, and unity, particularly during this festive season. Today, we have come to express our solidarity and to extend a hand of support to the courageous individuals and families within this Internally Displaced Persons’ Camp in Shawuya Primary School, Abuja Phase 1, Jalingo, Taraba."

Mrs. Oloyede further emphasized the purpose of the outreach, stating that "The provision of food items and relief materials to 300 residents here is more than an act of kindness. It is a reaffirmation of our dedication to ensuring that no one feels forgotten or alone. We recognize the resilience and strength you demonstrate in the face of adversity, and it is our hope that this gesture brings you comfort and a renewed sense of hope."

The outreach featured the distribution of food items and essential relief materials, with the aim of alleviating the struggles faced by the IDPs. The President added that the outreach serves not only to provide immediate relief but also to remind all of the enduring power of compassion and shared humanity. "Together, we can navigate even the most difficult times, and NAOWA stands firmly with you every step of the way."

While commending the dedication and generosity of NAOWA members who made the outreach a reality, The President averd their efforts to exemplify the spirit of service and compassion that the Association upholds.

Appreciating the Association for the kind gesture, the head of the camp Mr John Buba on behalf of other beneficiaries thanked NAOWA for remembering them in a crucial time like this and prayed for more strength and courage for the association to continue to carry out aims and objectives.

INSECURITY:Bissaula Community Leader Raises Alarm Over Renewed Attack, Calls for Lasting Security Deployment.

A community leader in Bissaula Ward of Kurmi Local Government Area, Taraba State, Alhaji Idi Ismaila, has decried a fresh wave of violence that disrupted the fragile peace recently restored to the area. INSECURITY: Two suspected kidnappers nabbed in Mayo Dassa, Jalingo.

Troops of six Brigade Nigerian Army headquarters ,Jalingo have dismantled a notorious kidnapping syndicate terrorizing parts of Jalingo and Lau Local Government Areas of Taraba State. A statement by Acting Assistant Director Army Public Relations Six Brigade Nigeria Army headquarters, Jalingo, Captain Olubodunde Oni says the Brigade act on an intelligence report and two suspects, identified as Ali Idi and Haruna Umar were apprehended early this week.
