Education:Mass Education opens new centre in Wukari.

The Executive Secretary Taraba State Mass Education Board,Mr Obadiah Andrew Agbu has reiterated the readiness of the board in promoting adult education in the state. Mr Obadiah Andrew Agbu disclosed this in interview with Jalingo Times with our reporter the ES said the Board is committed in ensuring Tarabans have access to quality Education. He revealed that the board in collaboration with Value Chain Development Program has established new centre in Wukari Local Government Area. Mr Obadiah Andrew Agbu added this development is in continuation of its efforts to have enough learning centers for the masses to receive lessons. The Executive Secretary reassured that similar gesture will be extended to other Local Government Areas of the state by the board. UMC Leader visits its forty Districts in Taraba state.

The Director Connectional Ministries Southern Conference of United Methodist Church, Reverend Dr. Philip Micah Doppah  the leader of the Church has embarked on annual Districts visitation to all forty Districts of the church. Dr Agbu Kefas bags Award of excellence.

Taraba State Governor Doctor Agbu Kefas has been presented with a prestigious award of Excellence. Commissioner ministry of Waste Management and Innovation, Honorable Shonzen James Bernard made the presentation on behalf of leadership of the Mumuye Cultural Development Association at Pantisawa, Yorro local government area. He said the award is in recognition of the Governor's efforts in developing the state. Honorable Shonzen pledged the support of the Mumuye nation to the present government in the state to Succeed in executing its human oriented policies and programmes. Responding,the Governor Doctor Agbu Kefas represented by the Deputy Governor Alh. Aminu Abdullahi Alkali appreciated the recognition done him by the mumuye. Former Governor of Taraba State Reverend Jolly Nyame was among those presented with an award at the Santii festival .

Chief of Mumuye Alh Ado Adamu Mazang II says Santii festival is a customary tradition of Mumuye race.

Chief of Mumuye Alh. Ado Adamu Mazang said this year's yam is now free for consumption in Mumuye land and beyond. The Royal father stated this during this year's Santii festival organised by his Chiefdom in Pantisawa, Yorro local government area of Taraba State. He said the event holding in October is a customary tradition that gives Right to Mumuye sons and daughters to now eat new yam formally and equally sale some. Ado Adamu Mazang said this unique practice is aimed at promoting unity, oneness and peace as well as thank God for the years bumper harvest. The royal fa ther who publicly ate roasted yam said by this symbol he has approved the consumption of yam as tradition of Mumuye demands  He lauded the Mumuye race for sticking to their forefathers tradition which embroidered unity. Mazang appreciated the Mumuye race playmates the Jenjo and Chamba tribes who graced the event saying this speaks good of Sustenance of love among them.

Santii festival aim at promoting Unity_Mr Nyavo

The need for concerted effort to promote rich cultural heritage of Mumuye race has been stressed. Chairman Central planning committee of the Santii festival, Mr Stephen Nyavo stated this during his address at the event in Pantisawa Yorro local government area. The Chairman said this year's event featured some traditions of the Mumuye race to let the know how Mumuye Celebrate Santii. He revealed that the exhibition of Harvested tubbers of yam for scaling to rate them, display of Kooro,Mantau,Jaavah Sorén traditional dances and, wrestling is to show what the uniqueness of Mumuye culture. Taraba state officials of ANAN inaugurated in Jalingo.

Newly elected officials of Association of National Accountants of Nigeria, ANAN,  Taraba State branch have been inaugurated.  The inauguration ceremony was held at the Taraba State Board of Internal Revenue conference Hall, Jalingo. Mumuye nation have been encouraged to always promote their culture. Member representing Ardo Kola State Constituency, Honorable Happy Shonruba stated this in an interview with our reporter in Pantisawa Yorro Zing Local during Santii festival. Honorable Shonruba said Mumuye race are blessed with rich cultural heritage that need to be portrait to the world. Beam Search light on ATC Community--SUG President TSU David.

President Students' Union Government SUG Taraba State University Jalingo, Comrade David Bazoka has  asked security operatives to beam its search light on ATC Community to protect lives and property. Comrade David Bazoka in an interview with our reporter lamented the increasing cases of attack on Students by hoodlums  in the University Community, Jalingo. He Confirmed that many students residing at Grace Junior academy area have robbed by hoodlums disposed off the belongings and others wounded. The SUG president said this ugly incident has created fear among Students who can no long to out to study their books for being attacked. Comrade David said Taraba state government and Security operatives should come to the aid of the students by deploying more officers to patrol the community in the night. Bazoka said some of the students who were wounded by the hoodlums are currently receiving treatment at hospital describing the situation as worrisome.

GUTGOSA officials sworn in in Jalingo.

Newly elected officials of Gunduman Lissam  Takum, District Government Day Secondary School,  Old Students Association,GUTGOSA, have been inaugurated. The inauguration ceremony took place at the Badminton Court of Jolly Nyame stadium Jalingo. Those inaugurated are Mr. Nuga Boyiga President, Mr.Saddi Audu Vice President, Engr. Andeyarka Theophilus Secretary General, and Mr.Ukwe  Habu Mijinyawa, Assistant Secretary and Publicity Secretary. Others are Mrs Joyce Jonathan Treasurer, Mrs Waji Hassan Women leader  and Barr. Apwenyang Yamusa Shitta as the Legal Adviser. In his inaugural speech,the president,Mr.Boyiga Nuga sued for unity among members of the Association. Nuga pledged the resolve of the new leadership to initiate policies that will move the Association forward. He asked students who graduated from the school and yet to be Board to join them in the interest of progress.

Newly elected NUJ Taraba State Council Chair takes over from his predecessor. The newly elected  officials  of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ Taraba State Council has been asked to support the present government of  Doctor kefas Agbu. Four family members electrocuted in Dinyavoh area Jalingo.

Taraba State Police Command has confirmed electrocution of four persons in Dinyavoh Jalingo. This is contained in a statement by the Command Spokesperson SP Abdullahi Usman. The Statement revealed that the command received an information from a reliable source that a house located in Dinyavoh Jalingo was on fire and men were mobilised to the scene. It adds that on arrival it was discovered that a family of four were found lying down with burns all over their bodies suspected to be electrocution. It reveals that the victims identified as Mr Remond Ofonbuk 44, Mrs Mfonobong Remond,Heave Remond 15,and First Remond 13yrs were the victims. The statement stated that preliminary findings showed that Yola Electricity Distribution Company brought light and the transformer of the blows as a result many houses within the neighborhood experienced high electric voltage that led to fire outbreak which inflicted burns on the victims. Fears as Gunmen Kidnapped District Head of Alingora, 8 others in Ardo kola LGA Taraba State.

Alingora residents were thrown in to confusion following the invasion of the Community and subsequent kidnapped of Community leader and others. The District Head of Malam Alingora in the Ardo Kola local government area Bello Alingora and eight others have been abducted. It was gathered that the armed bandits who were in their numbers stormed the village and operated for hours unchallenged. A resident of the area, Buba Malam Alingora told our reporter on the telephone that the attackers arrived at the village around nine in the evening and spent about six hours operating. He further explained that the whereabouts of the victims are still unknown and the abductors have not contacted their families the situation he said has thrown them into fear.
