Santii festival aim at promoting Unity_Mr Nyavo

The need for concerted effort to promote rich cultural heritage of Mumuye race has been stressed.

Chairman Central planning committee of the Santii festival, Mr Stephen Nyavo stated this during his address at the event in Pantisawa Yorro local government area.

The Chairman said this year's event featured some traditions of the Mumuye race to let the know how Mumuye Celebrate Santii.

He revealed that the exhibition of Harvested tubbers of yam for scaling to rate them, display of Kooro,Mantau,Jaavah Sorén traditional dances and, wrestling is to show what the uniqueness of Mumuye culture.

Nyavo revealed that the Committee has come up with an idea of purchasing a parcel of land as permanent site for the Celebration of the Event annually and solicited financial assistance from Mumuye sons and daughters as well as well wishers to make it a reality.

On his part the Head of Local Government Administration HOLGA Yorro local government area Mr Baba Jibril solicited support for Yam farmers in the area to boost production.

He said the Santii festival is a memorable event as it gives the Mumuye race to unity and strengthen bonds for the progress of the land.

Mr Jibril commended Governor Agbu Kefas for initiating programmes that have direct bearing on the people of the state in the areas of Education, Agriculture, Health and Environment among others.

TARABA: Jenjo Youth Wing Disowns Magaji Gago’s Alleged Remarks Against Kefas, Reaffirms Loyalty.

INSECURITY:Bissaula Community Leader Raises Alarm Over Renewed Attack, Calls for Lasting Security Deployment.

A community leader in Bissaula Ward of Kurmi Local Government Area, Taraba State, Alhaji Idi Ismaila, has decried a fresh wave of violence that disrupted the fragile peace recently restored to the area. He made the remarks during a press briefing where he recounted the latest attack and appealed for urgent government intervention. According to Ismaila, the Bissaula community was thrown into panic on Wednesday, 19 November 2025, at about 8:00 p.m., when unknown gunmen, suspected to be members of the Ndaka-Chamba militia, stormed the village and opened fire.
