UMC Leader visits its forty Districts in Taraba state.


The Director Connectional Ministries Southern Conference of United Methodist Church, Reverend Dr. Philip Micah Doppah  the leader of the Church has embarked on annual Districts visitation to all forty Districts of the church.

The visit was aimed at supervising the activities of the Districts, Conduct Districts conference and to share fellowship  with Pastors, delegates and members.

At Lankaviri, the headquarters of  Eugene Wesley District, the leader of the Church Reverend Dr Philip Micah Doppah said he he was at the district to preside over the  nineteenth session of its District Conference,  to fellowship, see how Pastors and leaders handle God's given assignments among others.

He charged members to remain resolute in serving God at all times, reminding them that their primary assignment is to worship God in spirit and in truth.

Reverend Doppah enjoined believers to love one another unconditionally noting that  lack of love is an act of unholiness, which without no one shall see the Lord.

He  advised farmers not to sale their farm produce during harvest and but to ensure they preserved enough food that will feed their families.

Speaking further the leader told members to be security conscious at all times, and cooperate with securities to safeguard their communities.

in his sermon the conference chaplain Reverend Abbo Zinas Wakili challenged them to be true disciples of Jesus Christ to overcome all attacks from devil.

He cautioned them against doing what is unpleasant in the sight of God but that they should live  a holy life at all times.   

Earlier, in his welcome address, the District Superintendent of Eugene Wesley District Rev. Robinson Sanweri welcomed the Church leader Reverend. Dr. Philip Micah Dopah to the conference despite  his tight schedule and prayed God to give him more strength and wisdom.

Sanweri urged members of the  districts to rededicate themselves to the service of God and advice them to embrace sustainability and development program as a means to secure the future of the Church.

Reverend Robinson Sanweri called on security to rise up to their responsibilities of securing lives and property, revealing that some communities in Lau Local Government Area are not longer safe  as a result of the activities of bandits.

During the one day District  Conference, the Conference resolved to create new five additional charges to ease administration.
During the visit new district Choir officials were inaugurated by the Director Connectional Ministries.

INSECURITY:Bissaula Community Leader Raises Alarm Over Renewed Attack, Calls for Lasting Security Deployment.

A community leader in Bissaula Ward of Kurmi Local Government Area, Taraba State, Alhaji Idi Ismaila, has decried a fresh wave of violence that disrupted the fragile peace recently restored to the area.
