Education: North East Development Commission visit Taraba State Mass Education Board.

ES TRS mass Education Board Obadiah Andrew Agbu lauds North East Development Commission for the recognition. Executive Secretary Taraba State Mass Education Board Mr Obadiah Andrew Agbu said its Literacy skills programs cut across all boards. Mr Obadiah Andrew Agbu in an interview said the board has engaged deaf and dumb as well as lame and crippled in its program to give them needed skills that will aid their quota the development of the state. According to him the resilience shown by the Deaf and Dumb Students in acquiring Education is encouraging. Crime: NDLEA rates Taraba state high in illicit drugs consumption.

By Keke Jako. Taraba State has been rated high in consumption of illicit drugs in the country. State Commander of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA Taraba State Command, Nanzing Daniel Sallah made the revelations while hosting State Officials of the Nigeria Union of Journalists,NUJ in his office in Jalingo. Nanzing Daniel Sallah said the consumers of the drugs in the state fall between the age brackets of sixteen and forty six years, saying they consume hard drugs such as Cannabis Sativa AKA Marijuana,Codine, tramadol, methamphetamine AKA Ice among others. The State Commander remarked that this ugly trends is aided by the activities of the drug traffickers who used the state as a transit in the business attributing the high rate of criminal activities in the state to drug abuse. Transportation: NUJ Taraba State seeks for Partnership with FRSC for Smooth operations.

Chairman Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ Taraba State Council Mathew Eliud Jen has restated the readiness of Journalists to keep the public abreast of happenings in the society. Mathew Eliud Jen stated this during familiarisation visit to the Sector Commander Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC Taraba State Command headquarters in Jalingo. The Chairman said the core responsibilities of Journalists is to inform,educate, and enlighten the public hence the reassurance for sustaining the tempo by publicising activities of thr Corps. He told the sector commander that they were in his office to seek for partnership in carrying out their duties and to also appeal that the FRSC Taraba State Command will organise and sponsor training for Journalists in the state on its activities. Streamlining MDAs Committee submits its report.

Obadiah Ando's Committee submits Report to Doctor Agbu Kefas. The committee Saddled with the responsibility of streamlining Ministries, Boards and Parastatals has submitted its report to the Taraba State Governor Doctor Agbu kefas. Receiving the report at the Government House Jalingo, the governor expressed satisfaction with the committee work and promised to implement it. Agbu kefas said the committee has done well and assured that the he will not drift from the report. On training of senior civil servants which the committee recommended the Governor said that his Government will prioritize the training and retraining of civil servants to achieve better results. The newly elected chairman of Sardauna local government Council Honorable Mohammed J Umar has been given a rousy welcome by the good people of the area in Gembu. Education: 55 learners Graduated from Adult Literacy Centre in Wukari LGA.

Taraba State Mass Education Board graduates 55 learners in Jukun and Hausa languages in Wukari. Executive Secretary Taraba State Mass Education Board Mr. Obadiah Andrew Agbu has reiterated the  commitment of the board to promote literacy in the society. Obadiah Andrew Agbu disclosed this in the interview  that recently the board graduated fifty learners mostly women in Wukari Local Government Area. He revealed that the graduates were taught Jukun and Hausa languages as thirty are awarded  Basic Certificate in Jukun Language while twenty five received Basic Certificate in Hausa language  He remarked that the development is in collaboration with Jukun,Wapan Literacy and Language Development,NBTT, project. Agriculture: VCDP committed to promote food security in Taraba state.

Keke Moses  Jalingo. Value Chain Development Program VCDP  committed to promote food security in Taraba State. State Project Coordinator Value Chain Development Program Mr. Irimiya Musa said the programme is committed to complementing Government's efforts to  boost food production in Taraba State. Irimiya Musa in an interview with our reporter in Jalingo said the project which focuses its activities on rice and cassava value chains has profiled over twenty thousand farmers with twelve thousand seven hundred farmers that have benefitted from its intervention. The areas of intervention included input and equipment supports, capacity building, and provision of ancillary services such as farm access road, market stores and stall, powered solar boreholes and aggregation centres, among others.  Musa revealed that that in its eight years of operations in Taraba State said about fifty percent of farmers profiled have been assisted to boost their productions. 30 Disabled person to receive training on Literacy skills in Jalingo.

Thirty Person Living with Disability are to receive literacy skills in Jalingo local government area. Executive Secretary Taraba State Mass Education Board, Mr Obadiah Andrew Agbu disclosed this in an interview with our reporter in Jalingo. The Executive Secretary said the training is courtesy Value Chain Development Program in collaboration with the mass Education Board. Obadiah revealed that the training  will equally exposed participants to entrepreneurship skills to boost farming business particularly rice and cassava. He applauded the State Project Coordinator Value Chain Development Program, VCDP Mr Irimiya Musa for deeming it fit to partner with the Board to give farmers literacy skills.
