APGA Campaign: MLA Group Urges Agbu Supporters to Ignore Court Distractions, Intensify Mobilisation.

By Jako Keke  [Jalingo Times]November 7, 2026.

The MLA Support Group has called on supporters of Engr. Luka Agbu to remain focused and intensify grassroots mobilisation across Wukari and Ibi Local Government Areas of Taraba State, despite an ongoing legal dispute over the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) primary election.

The group said the growing momentum of the door-to-door campaign across the two local government areas demonstrates Agbu's grassroots acceptance and continued popularity among voters.

In a statement signed by its Director-General, Adamu Samaila Sanda, the group urged ward coordinators, youth leaders, women groups, polling unit representatives and volunteers not to allow the ongoing court proceedings to distract them from their political mobilisation activities.

The statement came amid proceedings at the Federal High Court sitting in Jalingo, where a defence witness in the suit instituted by Hon. Pius Sabo against Engr. Luka Agbu Mathias reportedly told the court that Sabo's name was missing from the APGA membership register submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Describing the ongoing campaign as a reflection of voluntary grassroots support, the group said its coordinators and supporters were engaging residents from streets and markets in Wukari to communities across Ibi.

It maintained that Agbu's political strength was rooted in his relationship with the people, accessibility, humility and commitment to inclusive leadership, rather than financial inducements or political propaganda.

According to Sanda, the group's principal has earned the confidence of supporters through years of service and consistent engagement with grassroots communities, adding that his political appeal cuts across ethnic, religious and party affiliations.

The group further insisted that Agbu emerged from the people's choice during the APGA primary and expressed confidence that his supporters remained committed to his political ambition.

It therefore urged campaign structures across the two local government areas to sustain the door-to-door mobilisation, engage voters and communicate Agbu's political vision to communities.

The MLA Support Group maintained that the ongoing judicial process should be allowed to run its course while supporters concentrate on their political activities, expressing confidence in the strength of Agbu's grassroots support.
