TRAINING: INEC Trains LG Officers on Voter Register Display, PVC Management Ahead of 2027.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Taraba State, has trained Local Government Training Officers (LGTOs) on the display of the Register of Voters and the management and collection of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).

The training, which was held on Saturday, October 3, 2026, in Taraba State, was organised by the Training Department of the Electoral Institute, the training arm of the Commission.

The exercise was designed to equip the LGTOs with the requisite knowledge and practical skills to effectively coordinate the display of the Register of Voters, ensure proper management of PVCs and facilitate an efficient process for their collection by eligible voters.

The Public Affairs Officer, Taraba State, Marvin Mathias Bandawa, issued the statement on behalf of the Resident Electoral Commissioner.

According to the Commission, the training forms part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen the capacity of its personnel and enhance operational efficiency ahead of the 2027 General Election.

The Commission said effective training of electoral officials remains essential to ensuring that voter registration records are properly displayed and managed, while PVC collection processes are conducted in an orderly and transparent manner.

The exercise is also expected to enhance coordination between INEC officials at the local government level and contribute to a smooth electoral process as preparations for the 2027 General Election intensify.

INSECURITY:Bissaula Community Leader Raises Alarm Over Renewed Attack, Calls for Lasting Security Deployment.

A community leader in Bissaula Ward of Kurmi Local Government Area, Taraba State, Alhaji Idi Ismaila, has decried a fresh wave of violence that disrupted the fragile peace recently restored to the area. He made the remarks during a press briefing where he recounted the latest attack and appealed for urgent government intervention. INSECURITY: Two suspected kidnappers nabbed in Mayo Dassa, Jalingo.

Troops of six Brigade Nigerian Army headquarters ,Jalingo have dismantled a notorious kidnapping syndicate terrorizing parts of Jalingo and Lau Local Government Areas of Taraba State.  A statement by Acting Assistant Director Army Public Relations Six Brigade Nigeria Army headquarters, Jalingo, Captain Olubodunde Oni says the Brigade act on an intelligence report and two suspects, identified as Ali Idi and Haruna Umar were apprehended early this week.
