POLITICS: Tinubu, Kefas Get Second-Term Endorsement in Taraba.

By Jako Keke [Jalingo Times]
A political support group, the Iliya Kefas Alhaji Coalition, has endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Taraba State Governor, Dr Agbu Kefas, for a second term in office ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The endorsement was made on Saturday at the Jolly Nyame Stadium, Jalingo, during a mobilisation rally attended by hundreds of supporters drawn from the 16 Local Government Areas and the two Special Development Areas of Taraba State.

Leader of the coalition, Hon. Iliya Kefas Alhaji, said the decision was based on what the group described as the achievements and ongoing initiatives of the two administrations in the areas of security, education, agriculture, human capital development, infrastructure and economic development.

He commended President Tinubu for what he described as efforts to address challenges confronting the country, particularly in security, infrastructure, agriculture and human capital development.

Iliya said giving the President another term would provide an opportunity for his administration to consolidate on policies and programmes already initiated for national development.

Turning to Taraba State, the coalition leader said Governor Agbu Kefas had demonstrated commitment to improving the welfare of the people through interventions in education, security, agriculture, infrastructure and other sectors.

“We are here to endorse our papa, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and Governor Agbu Kefas for their second term in office,” Iliya said.

He appealed to Tarabans to support the two leaders, while assuring that the coalition would continue to mobilise citizens in support of their programmes.

Iliya also highlighted the state government's sanitation initiative, claiming that more than 10,000 youths and women had so far benefited from the exercise across the state.

Also speaking, Mrs Victoria Markus said President Tinubu deserved another opportunity to consolidate on his administration's programmes, while describing Governor Kefas's interventions in education, security, agriculture, infrastructure and the economy as worthy of recognition.

In his remarks, Adamu Usman said the endorsement was an expression of the group's confidence in the continuity of the two administrations, urging supporters to sustain their mobilisation ahead of the 2027 elections.

The event featured solidarity messages and support activities, with participants drawn from across Taraba State.

The coalition's endorsement adds to the growing political mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections, as political groups and supporters across the state continue to declare their positions on the forthcoming polls.
