ELECTIONS: Pastor Bulus Bitonupha Emerges Mumuye Youth Chairman in Taraba

Pastor Bulus Bitonupha has emerged as the new Chairman of the Mumuye Youth, Taraba State Chapter, following an election held at Mumuye House, Mile 6, Jalingo.

The election, which attracted Mumuye youths from various parts of the state, provided an opportunity for members of the youth body to participate in the leadership process and elect new executives to steer its affairs.

In his acceptance remarks shortly after his election, Pastor Bitonupha called on Mumuye youths across Taraba State to unite and put aside personal and sectional differences in the interest of the community.

He said his administration would prioritize unity, cooperation, peaceful coexistence and mutual respect, stressing that collective effort remained essential to achieving meaningful progress for Mumuye youths.

“I am calling on all Mumuye youths to come together and work with me. With unity and our collective effort, I am very sure that things will work out right for us,” he said.

The new chairman also pledged to provide inclusive leadership and ensure that the concerns, ideas and aspirations of Mumuye youths receive adequate attention.

He urged the youths to see the new administration as a platform for constructive engagement, collaboration and greater participation in issues affecting their welfare and development.

Pastor Bitonupha further appealed to Mumuye youths to support initiatives aimed at promoting education, empowerment, peace, cultural identity and socio-economic development within the community.

Meanwhile, other officials elected alongside the chairman are: Adamu Lawan, Vice Chairman; Jacob Voto Kefas, Secretary General; Philip Dan’Azumi, Assistant Secretary; Markus Obasanjo Mazankwanti, Treasurer; Elisha Denis Shavoro, Financial Secretary; John Joseph Bulus, Organizing Secretary; Santi Bulus, Public Relations Officer I; and Augustine Paul, Public Relations Officer II.

Others are Yohanna Sani, Welfare Officer; La’avi Jonathan, Women Leader; Dadason Japhet, Auditor I; and Naboth Azan Sankoj, Auditor II.

The election is expected to usher in a new phase in Mumuye youth leadership in Taraba State, with members expressing hopes for stronger unity, effective representation and increased youth participation in community development.

Pastor Bulus Bitonupha now assumes the responsibility of coordinating the affairs of Mumuye youths across the state, with a mandate to promote their collective interests and advance the ideals of unity, culture and development.

INSECURITY:Bissaula Community Leader Raises Alarm Over Renewed Attack, Calls for Lasting Security Deployment.

A community leader in Bissaula Ward of Kurmi Local Government Area, Taraba State, Alhaji Idi Ismaila, has decried a fresh wave of violence that disrupted the fragile peace recently restored to the area. He made the remarks during a press briefing where he recounted the latest attack and appealed for urgent government intervention. According to Ismaila, the Bissaula community was thrown into panic on Wednesday, 19 November 2025, at about 8:00 p.m., when unknown gunmen, suspected to be members of the Ndaka-Chamba militia, stormed the village and opened fire. Their primary target was said to be Baba Umaru Gambo, a former youth leader of the community and current Commander of the Taraba Marshal in Kurmi Local Government Area. INSECURITY: Two suspected kidnappers nabbed in Mayo Dassa, Jalingo.

Troops of six Brigade Nigerian Army headquarters ,Jalingo have dismantled a notorious kidnapping syndicate terrorizing parts of Jalingo and Lau Local Government Areas of Taraba State.  A statement by Acting Assistant Director Army Public Relations Six Brigade Nigeria Army headquarters, Jalingo, Captain Olubodunde Oni says the Brigade act on an intelligence report and two suspects, identified as Ali Idi and Haruna Umar were apprehended early this week. The statement adds that the culprits were captured during a raid at a local hotel in Mayo Dassa area of Jalingo metropolis where they were hiding.  It adds that Further investigations led to the discovery that the gang's hideout was at Kona Mountain in Jalingo , where additional members of the syndicate were believed to be camped.
