Yorro 2027: Labour Party Candidate Pledges Inclusive Governance, Jobs, Scholarships.

The Labour Party candidate for Yorro Constituency in the Taraba State House of Assembly election, Hon. Mrs. La’an Baru Nyabun, has unveiled an ambitious development agenda centred on inclusive governance, youth empowerment, education, basic infrastructure and gender equality.

Nyabun, while addressing constituents ahead of the 2027 general elections, said her political journey was not merely about campaigning for votes but about establishing a “covenant” of service and partnership with the people of Yorro.

According to her, her proposed administration would prioritise inclusive governance by taking government closer to the people at the ward level, beginning with her own ward as a model for grassroots development.

She also promised to establish the GO LA’AN Skills Academy to provide youths with practical skills and empowerment opportunities, stressing that young people should not have to wait indefinitely for government employment before becoming productive.

On infrastructure and social services, the Labour Party candidate identified electricity, accessible roads, functional primary healthcare centres and potable water as basic rights of the people rather than luxuries.

Nyabun further unveiled the GO LA’AN Scholarship, which she said would support promising young people from the constituency to pursue courses such as Medicine, Engineering and Agriculture, with the expectation that beneficiaries would return to contribute to the development of Yorro and Taraba State.

She also pledged greater participation of women in governance and decision-making, declaring that women would be given meaningful representation under her leadership.

The candidate promised to pursue issue-based politics and establish quarterly town hall meetings with constituents if elected, saying such engagements would provide an avenue for the people to hold their representative accountable and contribute to decisions affecting the constituency.

“Your vote is your voice. Use it wisely on election day,” Nyabun urged, adding that Yorro and Taraba deserved better governance and development.

She appealed to the people of Yorro for their support, prayers and partnership as she seeks the mandate to represent the constituency in the Taraba State House of Assembly under the Labour Party.

INSECURITY:Bissaula Community Leader Raises Alarm Over Renewed Attack, Calls for Lasting Security Deployment.

A community leader in Bissaula Ward of Kurmi Local Government Area, Taraba State, Alhaji Idi Ismaila, has decried a fresh wave of violence that disrupted the fragile peace recently restored to the area. He made the remarks during a press briefing where he recounted the latest attack and appealed for urgent government intervention. INSECURITY: Two suspected kidnappers nabbed in Mayo Dassa, Jalingo.

Troops of six Brigade Nigerian Army headquarters ,Jalingo have dismantled a notorious kidnapping syndicate terrorizing parts of Jalingo and Lau Local Government Areas of Taraba State. A statement by Acting Assistant Director Army Public Relations Six Brigade Nigeria Army headquarters, Jalingo, Captain Olubodunde Oni says the Brigade act on an intelligence report and two suspects, identified as Ali Idi and Haruna Umar were apprehended early this week.
