Kefas-Care: Hundreds Access Free Medical, Surgical Services in Zing.

Hundreds of residents of Zing Local Government Area of Taraba State have benefited from the ongoing Kefas-Care statewide free medical and surgical outreach, with beneficiaries commending Governor Agbu Kefas for bringing essential healthcare services closer to the people.

The outreach, which continued at the General Hospital, Zing, the administrative headquarters of the local government area, attracted a massive turnout of residents seeking medical attention and other health-related services.

Beneficiaries accessed a range of services, including free medical consultations, surgical procedures, specialist care, medications and laboratory investigations, providing relief to residents who may otherwise have struggled to afford such services.

Some beneficiaries described the intervention as timely, particularly against the backdrop of rising healthcare costs, which they said had made access to quality medical care increasingly difficult for many families.

They expressed appreciation to Governor Kefas for sponsoring the initiative and prayed for continued success in his administration, urging sustained investment in programmes that directly improve the wellbeing of residents.

The leader of the medical outreach team and Director of Hospital Services, Taraba State Ministry of Health, Dr. Nzunde Markus, disclosed that more than 200 patients were attended to on the first day of the exercise.

Dr. Markus said the outreach was already making a positive impact on the host community, stressing that the programme was not limited to treating illnesses but also provided an opportunity to educate residents on the importance of maintaining good health and embracing preventive healthcare practices.

Also speaking, a pharmacist with the medical team, Haumi Iba, described the turnout as impressive, noting that the initiative goes beyond the treatment of existing health conditions to promote disease prevention through public awareness and health education.

She said increased awareness of preventive healthcare would enable residents to take proactive steps towards protecting their health and reducing the burden of avoidable illnesses.

A community leader in Bissaula Ward of Kurmi Local Government Area, Taraba State, Alhaji Idi Ismaila, has decried a fresh wave of violence that disrupted the fragile peace recently restored to the area. INSECURITY: Two suspected kidnappers nabbed in Mayo Dassa, Jalingo.

Troops of six Brigade Nigerian Army headquarters ,Jalingo have dismantled a notorious kidnapping syndicate terrorizing parts of Jalingo and Lau Local Government Areas of Taraba State.
