INTERVENTION: Taraba Govt Delivers Relief Materials to Mbamnga Crisis Victims, Begins Return Plan for Refugees.

The Taraba State Government has provided immediate relief assistance to victims of the recent communal unrest in Mbamnga, Mbara, Geroji and neighbouring communities in Sardauna Local Government Area.

The intervention, carried out through the Taraba State Emergency Management Agency (TSEMA), is aimed at alleviating the hardship faced by displaced residents whose homes and properties were destroyed during the crisis, which also claimed lives.

The relief materials were presented on behalf of the Executive Secretary of TSEMA, Dr. Echuseh Audu, by the Director of Relief and Rehabilitation, Mr. Benjamin Bala.

The Executive Chairman of Sardauna Local Government Council, Hon. M. J. Umar, received the items on behalf of the affected victims.

Speaking during the presentation, Bala conveyed the sympathy of the state government to the affected communities and urged community representatives to ensure that the materials were distributed fairly and transparently to the intended beneficiaries.

The agency commended Governor Agbu Kefas for his prompt response to the plight of the displaced persons, while acknowledging the support of stakeholders in facilitating the intervention.

It also recognised the contributions of Sardauna stakeholders, led by the Secretary to the State Government, Chief Gebon Timothy Kataps, popularly known as GeeTee Ngwii, for their coordination and commitment to ensuring the safe and seamless delivery of the relief materials.

In his remarks, Hon. Umar expressed appreciation to the state government, TSEMA and other stakeholders for their collective response to the crisis.

He reaffirmed his administration's zero tolerance for unrest and disunity, calling for sustained peace and unity among the people of Sardauna Local Government Area.

The government also disclosed that efforts were ongoing to facilitate the safe return of residents who fled to neighbouring Cameroon following the crisis.

TSEMA reiterated its commitment to providing timely assistance to victims of disasters and conflicts, while expressing hope for lasting peace and stability on the Mambilla Plateau.

INSECURITY:Bissaula Community Leader Raises Alarm Over Renewed Attack, Calls for Lasting Security Deployment.

A community leader in Bissaula Ward of Kurmi Local Government Area, Taraba State, Alhaji Idi Ismaila, has decried a fresh wave of violence that disrupted the fragile peace recently restored to the area. INSECURITY: Two suspected kidnappers nabbed in Mayo Dassa, Jalingo.

Troops of six Brigade Nigerian Army headquarters ,Jalingo have dismantled a notorious kidnapping syndicate terrorizing parts of Jalingo and Lau Local Government Areas of Taraba State. A statement by Acting Assistant Director Army Public Relations Six Brigade Nigeria Army headquarters, Jalingo, Captain Olubodunde Oni says the Brigade act on an intelligence report and two suspects, identified as Ali Idi and Haruna Umar were apprehended early this week.
