FAITH: Fr. Muke Urges Christians to Demonstrate Faith Through Actions, Not Words.

The Special Adviser to the Taraba State Governor on Christian Religion Matters, Very Rev. Fr. Sunday Patrick Muke, has called on Christians to demonstrate genuine faith through actions, obedience to God and service to humanity.

Fr. Muke made the call in his Sunday message to Christians on September 27, 2026, drawing lessons from the Gospel of Matthew 21:28–32, which emphasises the importance of obedience through action rather than mere promises.

He explained that the biblical account of a father who sent his two sons to work in his vineyard illustrates that genuine obedience to God is demonstrated by doing His will, rather than merely making commitments.

According to him, while one son initially refused but later repented and obeyed, the other agreed to go but failed to act, teaching Christians the importance of repentance and translating their faith into practical deeds.

The cleric urged Christians to embrace repentance, change their hearts and return to God's will, stressing that it is never too late to acknowledge one's mistakes and make amends.

As Christians begin a new week, Fr. Muke encouraged them to put their faith into practice through love, selfless service and obedience to God's commandments.

He prayed that God would grant the faithful the grace to recognise their shortcomings, transform their hearts and remain committed to doing His will.

A community leader in Bissaula Ward of Kurmi Local Government Area, Taraba State, Alhaji Idi Ismaila, has decried a fresh wave of violence that disrupted the fragile peace recently restored to the area. INSECURITY: Two suspected kidnappers nabbed in Mayo Dassa, Jalingo.

Troops of six Brigade Nigerian Army headquarters ,Jalingo have dismantled a notorious kidnapping syndicate terrorizing parts of Jalingo and Lau Local Government Areas of Taraba State. A statement by Acting Assistant Director Army Public Relations Six Brigade Nigeria Army headquarters, Jalingo, Captain Olubodunde Oni says the Brigade act on an intelligence report and two suspects, identified as Ali Idi and Haruna Umar were apprehended early this week.
