CRISIS: Plateau Government Imposes Curfew on Barkin Ladi, Bokkos, Mangu

The Plateau State Government has imposed an immediate dusk-to-dawn curfew on Barkin Ladi, Bokkos and Mangu Local Government Areas of the state, citing emerging security threats and the need to maintain public order.

The directive, which takes effect Monday, September 21, 2026, restricts movement within the affected local government areas from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. daily until further notice.

In a statement signed by the Commissioner for Information and Communication, Rt. Hon. Joyce Lohya Ramnap, mni, the state government said the measure was introduced to enable security agencies to stabilize the affected areas, protect lives and property, and prevent any breakdown of law and order.

The government urged residents in the three local government areas to comply fully with the directive and plan their commercial, agricultural and other personal activities around the stipulated hours.

Security operatives have also been directed to strictly enforce the curfew, alongside an immediate ban on the use of motorcycles throughout the affected jurisdictions.

The government assured law-abiding residents that security personnel deployed to enforce the directive would operate professionally.

The curfew is part of measures being taken by the administration of Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang to address the emerging security situation and safeguard communities across the affected areas.

INSECURITY:Bissaula Community Leader Raises Alarm Over Renewed Attack, Calls for Lasting Security Deployment.

A community leader in Bissaula Ward of Kurmi Local Government Area, Taraba State, Alhaji Idi Ismaila, has decried a fresh wave of violence that disrupted the fragile peace recently restored to the area. INSECURITY: Two suspected kidnappers nabbed in Mayo Dassa, Jalingo.

Troops of six Brigade Nigerian Army headquarters ,Jalingo have dismantled a notorious kidnapping syndicate terrorizing parts of Jalingo and Lau Local Government Areas of Taraba State. A statement by Acting Assistant Director Army Public Relations Six Brigade Nigeria Army headquarters, Jalingo, Captain Olubodunde Oni says the Brigade act on an intelligence report and two suspects, identified as Ali Idi and Haruna Umar were apprehended early this week.
