CRIME: NDLEA Arrests Three Suspected House-Breaking Gang Members in Jalingo.

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Taraba State Command, has arrested three suspected members of a house-breaking gang during a routine motorised patrol and stop-and-search operation in Jalingo.

The suspects, identified as Ahmad Nura, 19; Jafar Mohammed, 18; and Joshua Ishaya, 20, were intercepted on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at the Lankaviri Checkpoint while allegedly travelling out of Jalingo towards Yola.

According to the NDLEA, a search conducted by its operatives led to the recovery of three laptops, three iPhones, 10 Android phones, four power banks and one MP3 player from the suspects.

The agency said preliminary investigations indicated that the suspects allegedly admitted to involvement in breaking into houses within Jalingo and stealing valuables.

The suspects and the recovered items are being handed over to the Nigeria Police Force for further investigation and appropriate legal action, given the nature of the alleged offences.

The NDLEA urged residents and students who may have recently fallen victim to house-breaking or theft to report such incidents to the police.

The Command also expressed appreciation to the Taraba State Government, the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the NDLEA, sister security agencies, the media and members of the public for their continued support and cooperation.

It reaffirmed its commitment to professionalism, vigilance and inter-agency collaboration in promoting public safety across Taraba State.

A community leader in Bissaula Ward of Kurmi Local Government Area, Taraba State, Alhaji Idi Ismaila, has decried a fresh wave of violence that disrupted the fragile peace recently restored to the area. INSECURITY: Two suspected kidnappers nabbed in Mayo Dassa, Jalingo.

Troops of six Brigade Nigerian Army headquarters ,Jalingo have dismantled a notorious kidnapping syndicate terrorizing parts of Jalingo and Lau Local Government Areas of Taraba State. A statement by Acting Assistant Director Army Public Relations Six Brigade Nigeria Army headquarters, Jalingo, Captain Olubodunde Oni says the Brigade act on an intelligence report and two suspects, identified as Ali Idi and Haruna Umar were apprehended early this week.
