CHIEFTAINCY: Retired CSP Kidariju Emerges as Maiva District Head in Madagali Chiefdom.

Retired Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), Ijadi Kidariju, has been appointed as the new District Head of Maiva District in Madagali Chiefdom, Adamawa State.

The appointment was approved by the Executive Governor of Adamawa State, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, CON, and conveyed in a letter dated September 10, 2026, signed by the Secretary of Madagali Chiefdom, Philipus Emmanuel, on behalf of His Royal Majesty, Dr. Ali Danburam, Ptil Madagali.

According to the letter, the traditional ruler directed that the governor's approval of Kidariju's appointment be formally communicated to him.

The appointment took effect from September 10, 2026.

The monarch congratulated the new district head on his appointment and urged him to demonstrate commitment, loyalty and dedicated service to the people of Maiva District and the traditional institution.

He also charged him to discharge the responsibilities of his office with diligence, fairness and respect for all.

The appointment forms part of a wider exercise involving the appointment of substantive district heads in Madagali Chiefdom, with seven district heads reportedly approved by Governor Fintiri following recommendations from the traditional council.

The newly appointed Maiva District Head has since received his letter of appointment at an event organised by the Madagali Chiefdom.

Speaking after receiving the appointment letter, Kidariju expressed appreciation to Governor Fintiri and the Madagali Chiefdom for finding him worthy of the position.

He pledged to work towards promoting unity, peace and the cultural values of Madagali Chiefdom.

The new district head also expressed appreciation to his supporters and well-wishers who turned out in large numbers to celebrate the appointment with him, his family and the people of Maiva District.

He called for continued support and cooperation as he assumes the responsibilities of his new office.

A community leader in Bissaula Ward of Kurmi Local Government Area, Taraba State, Alhaji Idi Ismaila, has decried a fresh wave of violence that disrupted the fragile peace recently restored to the area. INSECURITY: Two suspected kidnappers nabbed in Mayo Dassa, Jalingo.

Troops of six Brigade Nigerian Army headquarters ,Jalingo have dismantled a notorious kidnapping syndicate terrorizing parts of Jalingo and Lau Local Government Areas of Taraba State. A statement by Acting Assistant Director Army Public Relations Six Brigade Nigeria Army headquarters, Jalingo, Captain Olubodunde Oni says the Brigade act on an intelligence report and two suspects, identified as Ali Idi and Haruna Umar were apprehended early this week.
