CAMPAIGN: Danji SS Campaign Raises Alarm Over Alleged Attack on Supporters in Jalingo.

By Jako Keke, [Jalingo Times] September 17, 2026.
The Danji SS Campaign Organisation has condemned an alleged attack on some of its supporters during the commissioning of its campaign office in Jalingo, Taraba State.

The incident, according to the organisation, occurred on Thursday at the entrance of the campaign office located in the Nyamusala area of the state capital, where suspected thugs allegedly attempted to disrupt the political gathering.

In a statement signed by the Director, Media and Strategy of the campaign organisation, Hon. Emmanuel Umaru, the group alleged that some individuals armed with knives attacked and stabbed some supporters of the APGA governorship candidate, Hon. Danjuma Usman Shiddi, popularly known as Danji SS.

The organisation described the alleged incident as disturbing, saying it could have undermined what was intended to be a peaceful political gathering.

Despite the reported incident, the campaign said the rally proceeded successfully, with a large turnout of supporters from Jalingo and other parts of Taraba State.

The campaign office was subsequently commissioned by Danji SS, the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the state.

The organisation said the alleged attack would not deter the campaign from pursuing what it described as a peaceful, issue-based and inclusive approach to electioneering.

“We appreciate the people of Taraba State for coming out in large numbers to identify with Hon. Danjuma Usman Shiddi (Danji SS), as well as the security agencies for their efforts in maintaining peace and ensuring that the rally proceeded successfully,” the statement said.

It added: “Any attempt to disrupt our peaceful campaign activities through violence, intimidation or mischief is unacceptable. We will not be deterred or distracted from our commitment to a peaceful, issue-based and people-centred campaign.”

The campaign organisation urged its supporters to remain calm and law-abiding, warning against retaliatory actions that could further escalate tensions.

It appealed to political actors and their supporters across the state to embrace responsible conduct during the electioneering period and avoid actions capable of threatening public peace.

The organisation also called on relevant security agencies to conduct a thorough investigation into the alleged attack, identify those responsible and take appropriate action in accordance with the law.

The campaign maintained that political differences should be expressed through peaceful democratic engagement, rather than violence or intimidation.
