The Honourable Commissioner for Environment and Climate Change in Taraba State, , on Thursday led a strong show of political solidarity in Zing Local Government Area as she participated in the All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship Primary Election in support of Governor .
Hon. Barde, popularly known as the Zinariyar Mumuyawa, received a rousing welcome from party faithful, youths, women groups, and supporters who thronged major areas of Zing to identify with her and reaffirm their loyalty to the administration of Governor Kefas.
The large turnout, according to political observers, underscored the growing acceptance of the Kefas administration in the area, especially following ongoing infrastructural development and people-oriented policies being implemented across the state.
Supporters who accompanied the Commissioner during the visit praised Governor Kefas for appointing Hon. Barde to represent Zing Local Government Area in the state executive council, describing the appointment as a recognition of competence, loyalty, and grassroots connection.
Speaking during interactions with supporters, Hon. Barde commended Governor Kefas for what she described as “visionary and inclusive leadership,” noting that the administration remains committed to delivering meaningful development to all parts of Taraba State.
As part of her engagements in the local government, the Commissioner made a surprise appearance at the Zing Deanery Youth Convention held at Saint Thomas Catholic Church, where she charged young people to remain steadfast in faith, committed to community service, and focused on personal growth and responsible leadership.
She urged the youths to embrace unity and constructive engagement capable of advancing peace and development within their communities.
In continuation of her visit, Hon. Barde paid a courtesy call on the Kpanti Zing,His Royal Highness, Alh Sulieman Ibrahim Sambo where she sought royal blessings and reaffirmed the commitment of the state government to sustaining collaboration with traditional institutions for grassroots development and peaceful coexistence.
The Commissioner also inspected the ongoing Monkin–Yakoko–Lamma road construction project, one of the key infrastructure projects initiated by the administration of Governor Kefas.
Residents of the area expressed optimism that the road project would improve transportation, boost economic activities, and enhance connectivity among rural communities in Zing Local Government Area.
The visit further highlighted the increasing political momentum within the APC in Taraba State ahead of future political activities, with stakeholders describing Hon. Barde’s outing as a demonstration of loyalty, grassroots mobilization, and confidence in the leadership direction of Governor Kefas.
