REPORT: PDP Screening Committee Submits Report, Clears Aspirants for 2027 Polls.

The screening committee of the in Taraba State has submitted its report to the party leadership after completing the screening of aspirants seeking elective positions ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The committee, chaired by , formally presented the report to the state leadership of the party at the PDP Secretariat.

Speaking during the submission, Agya expressed appreciation to the party leadership for entrusting the committee with the responsibility of screening all aspirants contesting under the PDP platform.

He described the assignment as enormous but successful, attributing the achievement to the cooperation and support received from party stakeholders and members throughout the exercise.

According to him, all aspirants who appeared before the committee conducted themselves with maturity and respect for the party’s internal processes.

Agya noted that the committee screened and qualified all aspirants for participation in the 2027 general elections, stressing that the exercise was carried out diligently and in line with the party’s guidelines.

Receiving the report on behalf of the party leadership, the Chairman of the , , commended the committee for what he described as a thorough and commendable job.

He praised members of the committee for their dedication, resilience, and commitment to ensuring a smooth screening process.

The PDP leadership further described the exercise as transparent, peaceful, and orderly, noting that it reflects the party’s commitment to fairness, unity, and internal democracy ahead of its forthcoming primaries.

INSECURITY: Two suspected kidnappers nabbed in Mayo Dassa, Jalingo.

Troops of six Brigade Nigerian Army headquarters ,Jalingo have dismantled a notorious kidnapping syndicate terrorizing parts of Jalingo and Lau Local Government Areas of Taraba State.  A statement by Acting Assistant Director Army Public Relations Six Brigade Nigeria Army headquarters, Jalingo, Captain Olubodunde Oni says the Brigade act on an intelligence report and two suspects, identified as Ali Idi and Haruna Umar were apprehended early this week. INSECURITY:Bissaula Community Leader Raises Alarm Over Renewed Attack, Calls for Lasting Security Deployment.

A community leader in Bissaula Ward of Kurmi Local Government Area, Taraba State, Alhaji Idi Ismaila, has decried a fresh wave of violence that disrupted the fragile peace recently restored to the area. He made the remarks during a press briefing where he recounted the latest attack and appealed for urgent government intervention. According to Ismaila, the Bissaula community was thrown into panic on Wednesday, 19 November 2025, at about 8:00 p.m., when unknown gunmen, suspected to be members of the Ndaka-Chamba militia, stormed the village and opened fire. Their primary target was said to be Baba Umaru Gambo, a former youth leader of the community and current Commander of the Taraba Marshal in Kurmi Local Government Area.
