PDP: Lau PDP Candidate Appreciates Supporters After Assembly Primary Victory.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the Taraba State House of Assembly election in Lau Constituency, Hon. Silas Kessavo, has expressed deep appreciation to party executives, stakeholders, members, and youths across the constituency for their support and confidence in his emergence as the party’s flag bearer.

In a statement issued shortly after the conclusion of the PDP primary election, Hon. Kessavo described his victory as a collective achievement made possible through unity, loyalty, and commitment demonstrated by party faithful throughout the electoral process.

The PDP candidate specifically commended party leaders and stakeholders in Lau Local Government for ensuring a peaceful and successful primary election, noting that their dedication to the ideals of the party strengthened the democratic process within the constituency.

He also paid glowing tribute to the youths of Lau Constituency for what he described as their unwavering energy, determination, and loyalty during the primaries, stressing that their active participation reflects a promising future for the constituency.

According to him, the mandate bestowed upon him carries a huge responsibility to work towards improving the welfare of the people and advancing development across the constituency.

Hon. Kessavo assured residents that he would remain committed to serving with honesty, humility, transparency, and dedication if elected into office, adding that his focus would be on promoting unity, inclusive governance, and people-oriented representation at the Taraba State House of Assembly.

He further emphasized the need for members of the PDP in Lau to remain united ahead of the general elections, saying the party stands a strong chance of victory through collective effort and sustained grassroots mobilization.

Political observers in Lau Local Government believe the outcome of the PDP primary election has further energized party supporters as preparations begin for the forthcoming state assembly election in Taraba State.

Hon. Kessavo  prayed for peace, progress, and continued unity in Lau Local Government, the PDP, and Taraba State at large.

INSECURITY: Two suspected kidnappers nabbed in Mayo Dassa, Jalingo.

Troops of six Brigade Nigerian Army headquarters ,Jalingo have dismantled a notorious kidnapping syndicate terrorizing parts of Jalingo and Lau Local Government Areas of Taraba State.  A statement by Acting Assistant Director Army Public Relations Six Brigade Nigeria Army headquarters, Jalingo, Captain Olubodunde Oni says the Brigade act on an intelligence report and two suspects, identified as Ali Idi and Haruna Umar were apprehended early this week. INSECURITY:Bissaula Community Leader Raises Alarm Over Renewed Attack, Calls for Lasting Security Deployment.

A community leader in Bissaula Ward of Kurmi Local Government Area, Taraba State, Alhaji Idi Ismaila, has decried a fresh wave of violence that disrupted the fragile peace recently restored to the area. He made the remarks during a press briefing where he recounted the latest attack and appealed for urgent government intervention. According to Ismaila, the Bissaula community was thrown into panic on Wednesday, 19 November 2025, at about 8:00 p.m., when unknown gunmen, suspected to be members of the Ndaka-Chamba militia, stormed the village and opened fire. Their primary target was said to be Baba Umaru Gambo, a former youth leader of the community and current Commander of the Taraba Marshal in Kurmi Local Government Area.
