The Special Adviser to the Taraba State Governor on Christian Religion Matters, Rev. Fr. Sunday Patrick Muke, has called on Christians to deepen their faith and promote love, peace, and unity as they celebrate the Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity.
In a message marking the feast on Sunday, Fr. Muke reflected on the Gospel reading from John 3:16–18, emphasizing God's boundless love for humanity through the gift of His Son, Jesus Christ.
According to him, the scripture reminds believers that God’s plan of salvation is open to all who place their faith in Christ, offering them the promise of eternal life.
“The Gospel reminds us of God’s immense love for humanity: ‘For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son.’ Through this gift, God offers salvation and eternal life to all who believe in Him,” he stated.
The cleric explained that the celebration of the Holy Trinity highlights the mystery of one God existing in three Persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—revealing the perfect unity and love that Christians are called to emulate in their daily lives.
Fr. Muke urged the faithful to use the occasion as an opportunity to strengthen their relationship with God and foster harmony within their families, communities, and society at large.
He noted that the message of the Trinity serves as a reminder of the importance of living in communion with one another, promoting mutual understanding, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence.
“As we celebrate the Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity, we reflect on the mystery of one God in three Persons. The Trinity reveals God’s perfect love and unity, calling us to live in communion with Him and with one another,” he said.
The Governor’s aide further prayed for God's continued blessings upon Christians and all residents of Taraba State, expressing hope that the values of love, peace, and unity embodied by the Triune God would guide individuals and communities toward greater harmony and development.
He concluded by wishing Christians a spiritually enriching celebration and encouraged them to remain steadfast in faith and service to humanity.
The Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity is one of the major feasts in the Christian calendar, celebrated annually to honor the central mystery of the Christian faith—the unity of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit as one God.
