Aspirant for the Jalingo, Yorro and Zing Federal Constituency seat, Princess Leah Olusiyi Solomon, has alleged that no direct primary election was conducted across the three local government areas for the All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives primaries.
Hon. Leah Solomon expressed frustration over what she described as the failure of the party to conduct the much-anticipated exercise, despite party members and supporters waiting for hours in various wards and centres across Jalingo, Yorro and Zing Local Government Areas.
Speaking shortly after monitoring developments in parts of the constituency, the aspirant lamented that APC members were left stranded without any clear information regarding the conduct of the direct primaries.
She maintained that, contrary to expectations, no electoral process took place in the affected areas, raising concerns among party faithful and supporters ahead of the party’s nomination process.
The development has reportedly generated tension and uncertainty among party members, many of whom had gathered in anticipation of participating in the exercise.
Party officials are yet to issue an official statement on the allegations as of the time of filing this report.
Details later.
