By Jako Keke,May 31,2026.

The Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), Taraba State Wing, Comrade Nathan Solomon, has lauded Governor for what he described as far-reaching reforms in the education sector, saying the administration has demonstrated a strong commitment to improving access to quality education across the state.

Comrade Solomon made the remarks while speaking with journalists as part of activities marking Governor Kefas' third anniversary in office. He noted that the governor's policies and investments in education have significantly reduced the burden on parents and guardians while creating a more conducive learning environment for pupils and students.

According to the NUT chairman, the introduction of the state's free and compulsory education policy remains one of the most impactful initiatives of the current administration. He said the policy has expanded educational opportunities for children, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds, and increased school enrolment across the state.

He further commended the government for the construction and renovation of school infrastructure in various communities across the three senatorial districts of Taraba State. The provision of modern classrooms, learning facilities, and educational materials, he said, has contributed immensely to enhancing teaching and learning outcomes.

Solomon also praised the distribution of uniforms, shoes, textbooks, school bags, and other instructional materials to pupils and students, describing the gesture as a practical demonstration of the government's commitment to supporting families and promoting education.

"The reforms introduced by Governor Kefas have brought renewed hope to the education sector. Teachers have witnessed positive changes in school enrolment, infrastructure development, and the provision of learning materials. These efforts have helped to ease the financial burden on parents and encouraged more children to remain in school," he stated.

The labour leader reaffirmed the commitment of teachers across the state to continue supporting the successful implementation of the free education policy, stressing that education remains a critical tool for the socio-economic development of Taraba State.

Beyond education, Comrade Solomon applauded the governor's achievements in security, agriculture, healthcare delivery, and road infrastructure, noting that the administration has recorded notable progress in key sectors despite prevailing economic challenges.

He said the improvements witnessed across the state have earned Governor Kefas the admiration of many residents and stakeholders, adding that the governor deserves recognition for his efforts in advancing development and improving the welfare of citizens.

Expressing optimism about the future of the state, Solomon stated that if given the opportunity to serve a second term, Governor Kefas would likely consolidate on the gains already achieved and deliver even greater dividends of democracy to the people of Taraba State.

He congratulated Governor Agbu Kefas on his third anniversary in office and wished him continued wisdom, good health, and success in steering the affairs of the state.
